We're just over a month away from the premiere of WandaVision on Disney+, and Marvel Studios Director of Visual Development Andy Park continues to reflect on bringing the Scarlet Witch to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Her mutant origins were ditched when she was introduced in Avengers: Age of Ultron, but are expected to be introduced in the upcoming TV series.
Park has now shared the first piece of concept art featuring the MCU's version of the character, and she's wearing a costume which fans will likely be anxious to see in live-action one day.
"I think this was the actual [first] concept painting I did of Wanda during preproduction of Avengers: Age of Ultron," he reveals. "So as it happens sometimes we start doing designs even before there’s a director or reading a script. It’s early early design exploration. I did this kinda knowing that they probably wouldn’t go for it. Sometimes you just gotta to it for yourself."
The Scarlet Witch has donned a few cool costumes since her 2015 introduction, and we can only hope that WandaVision wraps with her sporting something as amazing as this. If this artwork is any indication, Elizabeth Olsen was cast early on in production, as her likeness has been used for this piece.
