Solo: A Star Wars Story had a troubled production, with endless reports about those issues and an underwhelming marketing campaign ultimately contributing to disappointing box office numbers. The stage was set for a sequel, but with Lucasfilm moving away from big screen spinoffs, it remains unclear whethere there are plans to go back and fill in those gaps in this franchise's history.
In recent months, Qi'ra (played by Game of Thrones alum Emilia Clarke back in 2018) has started making her presence felt in a number of Marvel Comics titles. There's even speculation she'll appear in The Book of Boba Fett after remaking Crimson Dawn in her own image following Maul's demise.
Well, according to a new rumour, there are plans in place for this character; apparently, Clarke will be reprising the role for a Disney+ series revolving specifically around Qi'ra. The actress has expressed an interest in returning on several occasions and we know she had a relationship with the streamer after signing up to star in Secret Invasion for Marvel Studios.
This is a story best taken with a pinch of salt for now, but it certainly feels like something Lucasfilm could be building to. Hopefully, that means Alden Ehrenreich will be given the opportunity to reprise the role of Han Solo as well. He was faced with the impossible task of playing a character made famous by the legendary Harrison Ford and arguably did the best job possible with that role.
Are you optimistic about seeing more of Qi'ra in live-action? If so, when do you think such a series should be set in the Star Wars timeline: before or after Maul's death? Let us know in the usual place.
