The Mandalorian wrapped up its third season last Wednesday, and Lucasfilm has now released one final batch of spoiler stills from "The Return" (via SFFGazette.com).

These put the spotlight on several key moments from the episode, including Grogu piloting IG-11, Moff Gideon's deadly new look, and Bo-Katan Kryze blasting into action alongside The Armorer. The prevailing theory had been that the latter would be revealed as a traitor, but this finale established that she can be trusted and wasn't working with Gideon (despite their similar helmets).

Talking of the Imperial, while his demise was an explosive one, there are plenty of fans who are convinced the Gideon we saw die was a clone. It's a compelling theory, though we'd argue that he's already escaped death a few too many times over the course of The Mandalorian's three seasons.

There's also that fantastic shot of Grogu using the Force to save himself, Din Djarin, and Bo-Katan from certain death. Despite setting out to become a Mandalorian, the former Jedi Youngling is clearly growing more powerful.

Will that lead to him eventually ruling Mandalore as the first Jedi/Mandalorian since Tarre Vizsla? If so, we're likely still hundreds of years away from seeing that in the Star Wars timeline!

"Still the best Star Wars TV show, The Mandalorian returns with everything fans love about the franchise and plenty of hints that this will be the most thrilling and revealing season yet," our review stated at the start of the season. "We’re ready for that Bo-Katan Kryze spin-off."

Season 4 is expected to begin shooting later this year, hopefully meaning that The Mandalorian is going to return to our screens in 2024. Right now, The Acolyte and Andor are the only Star Wars TV shows heading to Disney+ next year and we're sure the streamer would like to add another.

I wasn’t a huge fan of the first season and realised at some point during season 2 that they’d made a whole tv show with zero story planned so I dropped off. From what I heard about season 3 I was right about the lack of story

Worst season of the show yet. The finale was better than most of the season, but it still had some cringeworthy moments (Gideon letting Mando destroy the clones so easily and Grogu running around on the light fixture stand out).

I really find myself not caring about the Mandelorians. Maybe it’s because they wear helmets most of the time and none of them really have personalities. Either way, Reuniting disparate clans and taking your planet back should be more interesting than this. I found the “for Mandalore” scene to be emotionally hollow.
