A month ago I did a little preview, and now here is my review of Heavy Rain.

Heavy Rain is directed and written by Quantic Dream's founder David Cage. You play the game by performing a series of quick time events.Player also interacts by exploring all available environments, and there are a lot of it.
The story is set in 2011,and you play with four characters, who are hunting the Origami Killer.

The look of the game is fantastic. The graphics,characters,environment...
I really like the noir style of the game.Even though story is great, there are couple of plot holes that weren't explained through the game.Interaction with other characters is like watching a film.Every time you are controlling the situation, for example you can interrogate a suspect calmly or aggressive. The game has more than 6 endings as far as I know.Everything you do through the game reflects on how the game will end.

This game is something I have never played before and I was surprised how much I liked it.When you finish the game, try go back again and don't make the same choices you did before. You will see how different the story will go.
I will play it at least two more time to see all the endings.

Heavy Rain is really a unique game,I recommend it to all PS3 users. So my rating is 9/10.

I just finished Heavy Rain on Tuesday and its phenominal. You basically interact with a 20 hour cut-scene, making decisions/performing (or not performing) actions that determine the direction of the story. Heavy Rain has redefined the user experience of gaming.

What can I say, I DID buy a PS3 to play this (and for the upcoming "The Last Guardian")...

So, I love Heavy Rain, it's a great game! It has some pretty serious flaws though, imo. They messed up a few things badly, like wolverine09 pointed out, considering internal logic and plot holes, but I can't go into detail here because it would be very spoilerific. And I want all of you guys to "buy this bitch" and play it. ;)

Because despite the flaws I see in it Heavy Rain is just a really fantastic, unique experience! Some people complain about it not even being a "real game", because it's just a series of QTEs, but honestly, [frick] those people. Well, at least I can say it surely isn’t a game for everyone. It's all about the story, the characters, the decisions you make, the emotions it creates, and I couldn't imagine something like this fitting in any standard game genre.

Devin Faraci of chud.com (without ever having played HR) bitched about it because of a trailer he saw, contemptuously calling it an "interactive movie", and I was like, yeah, but have you ever considered it might be a damn good interactive movie? Cause that's what it is, a damn good interactive movie experience. Quantic Dream did a great job with the QTEs by the way, using all the possibilities the PS3 controller hast to offer. You press buttons, move the stick, shake the whole controller, everything you can imagine, and it usually reflects your characters (intended) actions pretty well.

One other point that makes this game unique and interesting is the fact that like in most games the characters you play can die, but unlike other games this does neither mean “game over” nor can (or at least should) you just play the scene again. The story continues, just without the dead character. This creates a feeling of vulnerability I probably haven’t experienced in any game before.

On my first playthrough one of the characters got in a really horrifying situation, and I actually panicked (like the character quite probably would have), started to press the wrong buttons, reacted to slow and when the character ended up dead I just sat there for a few minutes, stunned, thinking “what the [frick] did just happen there?!”. Not many games create that kind of emotion.

“Fahrenheit” (or “Indigo Prophecy” for our prude American friends :P), the predecessor of Heavy Rain, was such a game. And although I have to say they really (and I mean REALLY!!) [frick]ed up the story to me it’s one the most memorable games and it held a place in my personal top 10 games of all times (now being replaced by HR), because of what Quantic Dream had done right with it and the fresh ideas and potential they showed (the NYPD detectives Carla Valenti and Tyler Miles will forever be among my favourite video game characters). With Heavy Rain they took most of what was good (focus on story, characters and emotions), got rid of most of the bad things (ridiculous, absurd plot twists!!) and nearly perfected the QTE system.

So, urm, wow, this was way longer than planned. Anyways, everyone who owns a PS3 and is up to an unusual gaming experience: BUY THIS GAME!! Anyone who doesn’t own a PS3: buy a PS3 and then BUY THIS GAME!! :) It may not be perfect, it may not be for everyone, but in the area of interactive storytelling it’s definitely a bold step in a new (the right) direction, and worthy of all the support it can get!

Shaman - after hearing over and over again how unique this game is I bit the bullet and made my purchase today. I had no idea what it was or what I would be letting myself in for but man, what an experience! That's the best way I can describe what this is, it is not a "game" but an "experience". I have hardly got into it (and have only stopped because my daughter came home from school wanting to play on the PS3) and I can't top the amazing comment/review Kyos has posted, but although this won't be a game for everyones tastes, it is certainly a game everyone must taste. It truely marks a milestone for gameplay and is a sign of things to come. The engine which fuels this will one day merge with FPS and RPG games to deliver a new generation of entertainment.
