Marvel Games will be officially stepping into the spotlight at the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con 2018. While Marvel's movie division is skipping the convention, Marvel Comics, TV and Games will try to fill that void with, hopefully, some exciting announcements. And after Square Enix's "underwhelming" E3 2018 "conference", it would be nice to finally see what Crystal Dynamics' Avengers project is all about.
According to the description for the Marvel Games panel, "attendees will see exciting sneak peeks of Marvel's Spider-Man, Marvel Powers United VR, and Marvel Battle Lines, with many unannounced surprises and panel exclusives." Marvel Games is producing games like Marvel: Strike Force (a mobile title for Android and iOS devices), Insomniac’s Spider-Man and the aforementioned Avengers project.
The panel will be hosted by Greg Miller (loudmouth at KindaFunny.com), who will be joined by Mike Jones (vice president & executive producer, Marvel Games), Bill Rosemann (executive creative director, Marvel Games), Bryan Intihar (creative director, Insomniac Games, Marvel's Spider-Man), and "others."
Marvel has announced that attendees can expect to see Spider-Man PS4, Marvel Powers United VR, Marvel Contest of Champions, Marvel Spider-Man Unlimited, Marvel Future Fight, and Marvel Puzzle Quest. Marvel Games' panel will be taking place on Thursday July 19 at 1:00 PM PDT in Hall H.
Starring one of the world’s most iconic Super Heroes, Marvel’s Spider-Man features the acrobatic abilities, improvisation and web-slinging that the wall-crawler is famous for, while also introducing elements never-before-seen in a Spider-Man game. From traversing with parkour and unique environmental interactions, to new combat and blockbuster action, it’s Spider-Man unlike any you’ve played before. Sony Interactive Entertainment, Insomniac Games, and Marvel have teamed up to create a brand-new and authentic Spider-Man adventure. This isn’t the Spider-Man you’ve met or ever seen before. This is an experienced Peter Parker who’s more masterful at fighting big crime in New York City. At the same time, he’s struggling to balance his chaotic personal life and career while the fate of millions of New Yorkers rest upon his shoulders.
Insomniac Games' Spider-Man will be released exclusively on PlayStation 4 on September 7, 2018.
