This past weekend, Quebec hosted "A history of Video Games" where Beenox stopped by and demonstrated the new Amazing Spider-man 2 game. A lot of the information in the article is old news if you've been paying attention this game. If not, here's what you've missed!
-
The web swinging from ASM will NOT return! No more sticking the clouds above! Instead, a new web swinging system will. It will require you to use the triggers. Right trigger for right hand and left trigger for left hand. This allows for more precise movement and you can expect to run into buildings...a lot more.
-
The game is going to be less linear. Missions can be tackled different ways. Go gun blazes or use the new and improved stealth system to save the city.
-
New unlimited mode! Once you finish the game you can go back and do side missions to your heart's content.
-
You can visit a comic shop to see Stan Lee and view all the comics you've collected while swinging around the city.
-
Test new abilities that you unlock in an arcade mode.
-
Play as Peter Parker. Do what Spider-Man can't!
-
Totally game time should take around 10 -12 hours. Not including all the side quest during the main story.
-
Day/nighttime is not dynamic. Meaning missions will either take place at night or during the day.
-
DLC is planned but nothing they can report on at this moment.
The site also mentions the graphics and details being a lot smoother and better than how the trailers make it out to be, which seems to be a big deal for people.
Some new character posters were added as well. Here we get a good look at the Green Goblin and Electro.
Some 3DS images were revealed as well, including our first look at Carnage! Should be noted that this game is being produced by High Voltage Studios and not Beenox.
Just a heads-up! The site is in French!
