Since the rocky launch of
Star Wars Battlefront 2, EA has done a fairly decent job righting the ship and supporting the game with free content over the past year.
At E3 this month, EA teased more content coming to the game based on the animated television series
Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Thanks to a newly published DLC roadmap for the game, we now know we'll begin to see
Clone Wars content arriving in the game as early as August.
EA took to Twitter to share an image of the roadmap, which outlines all of the content coming to the game between now and winter 2018. While we'll have to wait for exact details, it does give us a good deal to look forward to in the coming weeks and months.
Beginning in July,
Battlefront 2 will receive the Hero Starfighters update. This will include the new Hero Starfighters mode that offers a four vs. four PvP mode focused on Hero ship battles. Additionally, the update will include a number of game improvements, including the ability to turn lightsabers on and off, pre-round appearance swapping, and more.
In August, we will begin to see our first
Clone Wars-inspired content in the form of Clone Trooper appearances. However, it won't be until Fall where we see the bulk of the
Clone Wars content. This will come in the form of two new Heroes, Obi-Wan Kenobi and General Grievous. EA also teases a new large-scale battle mode which is rumored to be similar to the old Galactic Conquest mode.
Looking even further ahead to Winter, we can expect to see two more Heroes arrive: Anakin Skywalker and Count Dooku. Additionally, the desert planet Geonosis - the site of the opening conflict of the Clone Wars - will also arrive later this year. During both Fall and Winter, EA teases numerous Clone Trooper and Hero appearances.
EA promises more specific details regarding
Battlefront 2's July's update will be coming next week.
