Since the rocky launch of Star Wars Battlefront 2, EA has done a fairly decent job righting the ship and supporting the game with free content over the past year. At E3 this month, EA teased more content coming to the game based on the animated television series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Thanks to a newly published DLC roadmap for the game, we now know we'll begin to see Clone Wars content arriving in the game as early as August.

EA took to Twitter to share an image of the roadmap, which outlines all of the content coming to the game between now and winter 2018. While we'll have to wait for exact details, it does give us a good deal to look forward to in the coming weeks and months.

Beginning in July, Battlefront 2 will receive the Hero Starfighters update. This will include the new Hero Starfighters mode that offers a four vs. four PvP mode focused on Hero ship battles. Additionally, the update will include a number of game improvements, including the ability to turn lightsabers on and off, pre-round appearance swapping, and more.

In August, we will begin to see our first Clone Wars-inspired content in the form of Clone Trooper appearances. However, it won't be until Fall where we see the bulk of the Clone Wars content. This will come in the form of two new Heroes, Obi-Wan Kenobi and General Grievous. EA also teases a new large-scale battle mode which is rumored to be similar to the old Galactic Conquest mode.

Looking even further ahead to Winter, we can expect to see two more Heroes arrive: Anakin Skywalker and Count Dooku. Additionally, the desert planet Geonosis - the site of the opening conflict of the Clone Wars - will also arrive later this year. During both Fall and Winter, EA teases numerous Clone Trooper and Hero appearances.

EA promises more specific details regarding Battlefront 2's July's update will be coming next week.

If only the expanded the story to the clone wars and maybe even make it co-op, this game will be worth it. But for now, only a man can dream

I played the game for a weekend and didn’t care for it. The story was basically nonexistent and had to be finished in dlc that although free was completely unsatisfying, the controls just weren’t up to snuff (why can’t you aim down site on anything without a scope it just zooms in) the whole card thing didn’t really make any sense and the use of heroes while better now it was so bad at the start that it killed my encouragement to play more

Been playing BF2 since Day 1 (even pre-ordered it last August). Simply love Star Wars and the game, despite all the bugs.

A bit disappointed that will have to wait until Fall and Winter for the new heroes, but at least I will be able to stack up even more credits (currently sitting at 200k).

It would be even nicer if they allowed to use a joystick and throttle without having to go through two different external utilities otherwise the controls get weird: when I first booted up the game the trigger wasn't bound as the fire button but as the zoom button, and there was no way of rebinding a controller. In the end I not only had to use my joystick profiler but also a utility to simulate a xbox 360 controller and even then the throttle doesn't act like a throttle would and I'm forced to presso two buttons together to use one of the abilities.
Hell, I would have been content with normal joystick and keyboard without the throttle but it seems that the keyboard commands for the throttle do not register when you use a joystick, how idiotic is that?
Games like Rogue Squadron 3D and Star Wars Starfighter all had proper joystick support why not this one?

Somewhat on topic....

I watched The Last Jedi again. It is the first time I have seen it since I saw it in the theater.

Still not bad. I enjoyed the movie. Rose was a pointless character and her side plot with Finn was pretty much a waste and amounted to nothing. The Holdo mystery plan didn't really need to be a mystery unless they let us know there was a mole within the resistance so they couldn't reveal their plan.

But other than that, it was actually a well made, well directed movie.
Sure it doesn't subscribe to the fan fictions and YouTube theory that every geek and their brother made, but overall it's a good movie. I actually liked it better than The Force Awakens.

A little disappointed we are only getting one map rest of their year. Would like them to expand extraction mode to the rest of the mapa
