A source claims that Gal Gadot, star of Wonder Woman, refuses to return for the sequel if producer Brett Ratner is still on board.
Talking about Gadot, the source said:
"She's tough and stands by her principles. She also knows the best way to hit people like Brett Ratner is in the wallet. She also knows that Warner Bros. has to side with her on this issue as it develops. They can't have a movie rooted in women's empowerment being part-financed by a man accused of sexual misconduct against women."
RatPac-Dune Entertainment, Ratner's production company, helped produce Wonder Woman and took a big share of the profits.
Recently Ellen Paige, who worked with Ratner of X-Men: The Last Stand, and several other actresses outed Brett Ratner as a sexual predator.
A Warner Bros. insider said the following:
"Brett made a lot of money from the success of Wonder Woman, thanks to his company having helped finance the first movie. Now Gadot is saying she won't sign for the sequel unless Warner Bros. buys Brett out [of his financing deal] and gets rid of him."
Last month Gal Gadot posted the following picture on her Instagram:
It is safe to assume Warner Bros. Will cut all ties with Ratner and support Gal Gadot's stand against the producer/director.
