Bryan Singer Hints At Marvel Mashup Movie After X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

Bryan Singer is planning a "Marvel Mashup" movie after X-Men: Days of Future Past. Here's a look at who could show up in such a film - how about Deadpool, Wolverine and Silver Surfer for starters.

Marvel Mashup Movie Bryan Singer

Recently, X-Men: Days of Future Past director Bryan Singer was in attendance at The Fantasia International Film Festival where he disclosed some information on Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch and Cyclops. We previously covered that info but there was one peculiar item of note that slipped through the cracks. Reportedly, Singer told the crowd that he has plans for another Marvel movie after X-Men: Days of Future Past, one that sounds like it's going to combine a number of Marvel properties. He called the film a "Marvel Universe mash-up." It's probably a safe bet that Singer is sticking with 20th Century Fox and not helming a project for Marvel (although that is a possibility) so the obvious assumption is that he's possibly planning a team-up with the X-Men and Fantastic Four. Within those two film properties are rights to Silver Surfer, Deadpool and various spinoff X-Men teams, like X-Force, which was recently revealed to be in development with Kick-Ass 2 director Jeff Wadlow working on the script. Would you be interested in seeing a "mash-up" of these characters? It's entirely possible that some of the Fantastic Four characters and locations could show up in Days of Future Past as the FF played a key supporting role in Chris Claremont's original comic book story.

Analyzing X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

"Days of Future Past" is a popular storyline in the Marvel Comics comic book The Uncanny X-Men issues #141 and #142, published in 1981. It deals with a dystopian alternative future in which mutants are incarcerated in internment camps. An adult Kate Pryde transfers her mind into her younger self, the present-day Kitty Pryde, who brings the X-Men to prevent a fatal moment in history which triggers anti-mutant hysteria.

The upcoming sequel to X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men: First Class is officially titled X-Men: Days of Future Past and will be directed by Bryan Singer, director of the first two X-Men films. Several actors from the past of the franchise are confirmed to return, including Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Halle Berry (Storm), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Anna Paquin (Rogue), Shawn Ashmore (Iceman), Ellen Page (Shadowcat), Daniel Cudmore (Colossus), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), and James McAvoy (Professor X). Newcomers Peter Dinklage (Trask) and Omar Sy (Bishop) have also joined the cast along with Fan Bingbing (Blink), Booboo Stewart (Warpath) and Evan Peters(Quicksilver)."

This will piss people off. While I prefer Marvel Studios, Fox has some great villains. Doom as the villain for one would be epic.

Just give us a good FF movie and a solo Deadpool movie. Then concentrate on keeping the X-franchise on track, by giving us The Wolverine 2 and a sequel to DOFP.

Sure it could be cool. Sony is the most reasonable studio tbh so I'm still holding my breath for Spidey appearing in the FF or Avengers.

Rather F4 goes back to Marvel then rebooted under Fox...but seeing F4 and X-men together could be great!

Doubt it's Marvel mashing up with Fox....could be wrong

I only way I can see FF and X-Men mashing up, is if Beast needs to go to Reed to figure something out.... Or if Wolvie comes across Ben and they tussle a lil bit. Thats it.

Only if this was with MARVEL STUDIOS instead of FOX.....They just have this ugly streak where things don't go right. Plus the only characters you want to see any X-MEN team up with are all over @ MARVEL STUDIOS period.

Bryan Singer is a great director. Why do people continue to attack him?

Which pristine Marvel Studios directors are people comparing him to? Jon Favreau? the maker of Cowboys and Aliens? The rest of the Marvel directors either have NO film experience, TV film experience only, or have a filmography of shitty films alongside occasional good ones.

I'm starting to think that Bryan Singer legitimately gives a crap about these Marvel properties.

That's a good thing.

No two parts of the Marvel Universe coexist more poorly than the Fantastic Four (Super-powers = Celebrity!) and the X-men (Super-powers = Shunned and feared!).

Not sure what to think about this. I really don't like him as a director of Marvel related movies because he just doesn't understand the source material all that well. I really hope he doesn't screw up DOFP.

I'm planning on being the first person in have a part in each Comic Book universe at the same time. Here are my present goals:

1) Dr Strange & a Raccoon's voice on Disney. (Almost ready to sign here)

2) Lex Luthor/Brainiac on DC. (It is a shame that Superman is already taken)

3) Dr Doom on Fox

4) Mysterio on Spider man.

X-Men would be an insanely difficult project for anyone to tackle.

Which directors, who are good at ensembles, mind you, would be better for it? Singer works best with ensembles and that's why X-Men is his thing.

Could Cyclops or Rouge have been better? Sure. But what is the matter with Xavier, Magneto, Wolverine, Jean Grey, Nightcrawler, etc.?

People act like this is such an easy thing to do. Not everyone in X-Men will be able to get equal screen time or character. That's the flaw in an ensemble.
