Jennifer Lawrence's 'Mystique' Being Eyed For Her Own X-MEN Spin-Off Movie?

Jennifer Lawrence has already shown that she's capable of carrying her own franchise thanks to The Hunger Games, but it now sounds as if Mystique is one of the many characters that the producers of X-Men: Days of Future Past are considering for their own spin-off...

Like Sony Pictures and their planned spin-offs featuring The Sinister Six and Venom, 20th Century Fox are putting plans in place to expand the X-Men and Fantastic Four's cinematic universes. According to X-Men: Days of Future Past producer Lauren Shuler Donner, "There was a regime [at the studio] that didn’t see the worth in [spin-offs], and the current people who run Fox understand, embrace it, and we’re going to do right by it. I’d like to do Gambit. I’d like to do Deadpool. We’ll see. There’s a lot of really great characters." All names we've heard before, but producer and writer Simon Kinberg - the man apparently tasked with creating Fox's larger Marvel Universe - had this to say about another possible spin-off. "I love what Jen Lawrence has done with her, and I feel like because she is in such a crowded ensemble, there’s so much more opportunity if you were to follow her solo." Would you guys like to see Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique get her own movie? Be sure to sound off with your thoughts on this news below!

Only spinoff I'd watch is Deadpool. And only if it's rated for adults and has a lot of gore in it.

Mystique is being considered for a spin-off solely because Jennifer Lawrence is the biggest name in Hollywood right now. If the character was being played by Dakota Fanning or Anna Kendrick or whomever, there would be no talk of spin-off.

I thought JLaw wanted out?

Who would honestly want to see a spinoff of mystique?? That just doesn't sound interesting at all

*Sigh*

Other than Wolverine and Deadpool there aren't as many other (solo) options as they would like to think. They should do Alpha Flight and get moving with Deadpool!

The 2018 film is obviously FF/X-Men.

I'd like to see a Mystique spinoff where she plays Wolverine the entire movie...

Sounds like Fox fired their pre-Avengers team and immediately replaced them with Millar and Kinberg :P

I'm guessing the only reason to do this would be to ride on Jennifer Lawrence's name recognition. what would it be about? her going off to have a little baby nightcrawler? she's a great character, but without a backdrop of X-Men vs BoEM, I'm not entirely sure where they could go with it.

Is this the mystery Fox 2018 Marvel movie? I would prefer a return of Cyclops movie or a Nightcrawler solo. X-Force is still on, Jeff Wadlow has been boasting about his brilliant script.

Wow! They have so many other movies they could do, but they focus on a side character whose only attributions to this whole series is being the mother to two of the greatest characters and the right hand girl girl to two of the greatest characters. There isn't much you can tell from her perspective, why don't we focus on something better than her?

Mystique is a very mysterious character, there is a lot you can do with her.
& Jennifer is a big enough name to warrant a spin-off.

BUT the best thing about X Men is that they are a team. With different branches of teams stemming from them, you don't need a solo movie to really "explore" a character, X Men work better together.
Which is why X-Force would be better, or New X-Men or I don't know, since we have GOTG what about Starjammers?

@Infinite
If there's a Gambit movie, Channing Tatum will portray him most likely :(

While I LOVE what JLaw is doing with Mystique, I miss Rebecca Romijn's Mystique.

As a general rule,if a character can't support a long running comic book title they shouldn't get a movie. Jus saying

Yes because of all the X characters Mystique is the one that needs her own movie...

Mystique?

Would rather the DEADPOOL we still waiting for?

Mystique'S overly used in the X-Movies, very cool find tho!

I'm for it. I am not a fan of how Fox handles Marvel at all, but as long as they can keep it from getting as bad as X3, X:FC, probably DoFP, or Origins, I'd watch it.

I think what she really means is a Jennifer Lawrence spinoff.
