Recapping the Magneto Movie

Nothing has been reported recently about the status of X-Men Origins: Magneto, but heres what we know so far...

In August, ScreenRant.com reported that David Goyer would be writing and directing the upcoming Magneto spin-off film. The Movie reportedly would take place before the X-Men trilogy and would center around the origins of none other than our favorite magnetism magician.

The Geek Files department of the Coventry Telegraph received the offical plot synopsis and here are some key parts:

"The Original X-Men flim began with the prologue that showed the character as a child being led to a concentration camp by nazis and this is the period in which the Megneto film takes place. This setup will allow a future villain to least flirt with the designation of protagonist since the character will be seen almost exclusively in his formative years"

It sounds as if Magneto grows up to combat the nazis and this story would definitely explain how he has become to hate and fear the idea of mutants being discriminated against as he and his family were in concentration camps as a child. The synopsis cotinues:

The storyline will heavily involve Professor X, the wheelchair-using X-Men leader. The character was a soldier in the allied force that liberated the concentration camps. The professor meet magneto after the war and while they bound over the realization that they are alike in thier super powers, thier differences soon turn them into enemies.

Although digital re-aging was utilzed in X-Men:The Last Stand to make Ian Mckellen and Patrick Steart apper many years younger, the studio will have to use younger stars to play the two lead roles. My hopes are that the two actors still have a cameo or guest apperance in the film by including flash-forwards so we can see them and thier realtion ship as they are older but before they split,as we saw in the flashback in X3: The Last Stand.

Like the idea but it far too early to say. Goyer, who wrote a draft of the script earlier this year is busy on other projects for the foreseeable future and Fox is completely focused on X-MEN Origins wolverine at the moment. Apparently, Fox has no plans going forward for another X-men or Fantastic four film but does have interest in a silver surfer spin off.

But there is not yet a projected release date for X-Men Origins: Magneto

Where in the world are they going to find younger actors with faux-british accents?

I hope they leave Gandolf and Picard out of it. Well, let Picard work I'm a little over saturated with Micklelin since LOTRs.

There should atleast be glimpse of Cap and Wolverine in this movie, or in a Captain America movie there should be glimpses of Magneto and Wolverine, Cap and Magneto should have been Wolverine. But u know this won't happen considering Fox will in no way give up there rights to the Xmen franchise.

GunRyder, Wolverine and Captain America have nothing to do with Magneto's origin story outside of the X-Men Evolution TV show. That is the only time those characters origins have intersected. In the comic book (the 616 at least) their origins are completely separate.

As a fan of the character 25 years running, if they try to add Wolverine into a Magneto film, I'm gonna be pissed. They should be using the Magneto Testament miniseries as a guide.
