THE WOLVERINE Crosses $300M Worldwide As WORLD WAR Z Hits $500M Globally

We have a couple of box office updates for 20th Century Fox's recently released The Wolverine and Paramount's surprise hit World War Z. The Hugh Jackman-starrer has grossed over $300M worldwide, while Brad Pitt's zombie thriller has crossed the $500M global mark.

Despite a heavy slew of blockbusters this summer, Paramount's World War Z has managed to hold up, becoming one of this year's surprise box office hits. The Brad Pitt zombie thriller is now at $502.6M worldwide, surpassing Oz: The Great And Powerful ($492M) as the seventh highest grossing film of 2013. This is an impressive feat for a movie that many predicted would be a failure. Meanwhile, 20th Century Fox's The Wolverine also continues to be a success, as the Hugh Jackman-starrer is approaching $200M overseas and has reached a global total of nearly $308M. It is now the fifth highest grossing X-Men film to date, moving ahead of 2000's X-Men ($296M).
