X-MEN Star Rebecca Romijn Expresses Interest In Returning As 'Mystique'

One original cast member who didn't make the cut in X-Men: Days of Future Past is Rebecca Romijn, the older version of Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique. In the following interview, the star of the original X-Men trilogy expresses interest in making a return to the franchise...

Rebecca Romijn played Mystique in X-Men, X2: X-Men United, and X-Men: The Last Stand. It was in the third movie that she was left depowered, so that more than likely explains why there was no sign of her in the future scenes of X-Men: Days of Future Past. Of course, the actress did have a minor cameo in X-Men: First Class, but what are the chances we might see her return as Mystique somewhere down the line? Well, considering the popularity of Jennifer Lawrence and the fact that she's a huge box office draw, slim to none probably, but Romijn has revealed that she is "absolutely" willing to return as the blue skinned beauty. She also told Digital Spy that she's "talked a lot" with Lawrence, adding: "But from what I understand, her make-up is very different from the make-up I went through. I don't think she had to go through everything that I went through. It sounds like [she had an easier time] - although my theory is that going through nine hours of make-up, you're in such a rotten mood, you can't be anything but evil - it turns you into the villain that you need to be to play Mystique properly!" Would you guys like to see her return?

she was amazing but i don't see how it could happen. the best thing they can do now is to just continue with the younger cast. dofp was the best cbm this year (imo) and i can't wait for apocalypse.

''It was in the third movie that she was left depowered, so that more than likely explains why there was no sign of her in the future scenes of X-Men: Days of Future Past.''

what is this nonsense? mags was depowered too, remember? the only reason is that the movie was crowded.

@rebellion "dofp was the best cbm of the year" sorry that title belongs to Captain america: The winter soldier but Dofp is a close second

@ZeoTV

Its not fair to compare them. Jen isnt fully mystique yet the character is still developing

I'm just wondering when she'll get the "voice" that mystique had in the original trilogy?

I'm not a big fan of movie Mystique, but I definitely prefer Romijn's take on the character.

Well that's a big giant DUH!
Of course she wants back in.
Superhero flicks are bigger than ever and who in their right mind would pass on a meal ticket like the X franchise?

Would love for her to come back. She gives that Aura that Mystique desperately needs. Jennifer does not have have it.

Fox should definetly make another movie in present day with adult cast. That cast is too good to leave them out now, when Marvel and DC are using their adult teams.

Fox can play all cards, so lets hope a proper X4 or X5 is in the cards.

I would do terrible things to get her back in the franchise. She was very good as Mystique. Jennifer Lawrence is one of the only things I'm not impressed with from the First Class and DOFP franchise. She's a great actress, but she just isn't a good Mystique.

Yeah, don't think it will happen.

@ZeoTV

I see what youre saying. I loved Romjin as well. Also his Mystique is really different due to the mini reboot in DOFP. Because of that I doubt she'll be the mystique we saw at first and be dofferent bc of her motove changes

Of course she would play her again.. I don't think she's acted since that role lol

Personally I'd prefer to not have any interpretation of Mystique get a spotlight in an X-Men movie.

They should cast me as Mystique. My drinking has caused the whites of my eyes to turn yellow, so they would save a lot of money on contacts.

it would be nice of her to be back, i really liked her as mystique, but i also like jlaw as well

@peditro, thats such a cheap shot, considering she was hacked by worthless pervets who you conveniently forgot, instead just blaming Jlaw. she can take as many as she wants, not her fault their are creeps
