Fan Made: X-Men: First Class Posters

Fan Made: X-Men: First Class Posters

I came across this and felt it was worth sharing to take away the bad taste left by those awful X-Men: First Class posters we got yesterday. These are inspired by 50s illustrator Saul Bass..

I saw these over at Geek Tyrant but they were originally posted on the CookdandBombd forums. As you can see they take a similar simplistic approach as those ridiculous posters we saw yesterday but actually manage to be, y'know, good.

And here is another by artist Eric Tan, featuring the original team from the comics with two of the more popular additions to the new team Wolverine and Storm.

Um, for those saying the first two "rip off" Hitchcock. Yes, that would be the Saul Bass style. Who worked on all those Hitchcock posters. The whole point. Yes?

ajax2, those don't look cheap at all... just dated, and fan-made in the style of the time period the film is based on.... the style is practically retro - around the 60's-70's. The last one is probably the best one out of the lot as it mixes some of the 60's retro style with the animated silhouette made famous from Bruce Timm's run on the Batman animated series. Don't pretend to be a connoisseur of what art is if you can't appreciate different styles and inspirations from different eras - but to each his or her own. While it's true these aren't professionally made - regardless of what inspiration the first two based their work on - it's still a homage to the era. While I may not like X-Men First Class, the last fan poster is what the film should've been minus Wolverine and Storm as the true first class from the first printing of The X-Men #1 comic book.

As far as I am concerned, fail movie or not, Fox never got it right.

Dated? Ha! The first two just have terrible craftsmanship, the third one was done with actual skill.
