Corey Stoll Talks ANT-MAN; Praises Both Old And New Versions Of The Script
Corey Stoll will apparently play Darren Cross, the CEO of Cross Technological Enterprises in Ant-Man, and rumour has it that he'll suit up as a villainous version of Yellowjacket. Here, he talks about the script and his excitement to still star in the movie despite Edgar Wright's departure.
Collider recently caught up with The Strain's Corey Stoll, and the actor (who received a great deal of acclaim for his performance in the first season of House of Cards) revealed that it was original writer and director Edgar Wright who chose him to star in Ant-Man and that he "absolutely" still intends to star in the movie for Marvel Studios and Peyton Reed. As for how he feels to work with the Yes Man helmer, Stoll added: "I’m absolutely thrilled! Reading the script – and the script that Edgar wrote, and the script that there is now – it’s insane that this movie hasn’t been made before. Obviously, you need the technology because it needs to look great. But the whole idea of the changing of scale and the experiential effect of size changing is just so cool. You read these scenes on the page, and I just got giddy." Unfortunately, they couldn't get any information out of the actor about the character he will be playing in Ant-Man, but he did express his excitement about starring in a very different kind of comic book movie. "I think it’s gonna be so much fun. You can get a little fatigued with superheroes because everybody is just punching everybody, or shooting everybody with ray beams. This is a completely different kinetic experience in the theater. Shrinking and growing back, there’s just so much material there to root it in. I think it’s gonna be great!" What do you guys think?
