Kevin Feige Confirms Plans For 'The Wasp' In The Marvel Cinematic Universe's Future

We still don't know for sure whether or not The Wasp (be it Janet or Hope) will make an appearance in Ant-Man, but talking a press event for the movie yesterday, Kevin Feige confirmed that they do indeed have plans for the character in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe...

The Wasp was originally expected to appear in The Avengers (she even appeared in some early storyboards), but Marvel decided to give Edgar Wright a little more time to make Ant-Man, stopping both characters from being founding members of that team as they are in the comics. It's a great shame that they've both been absent from the Marvel Cinematic Universe for so long, but that is obviously going to change next month when "Phase 2" comes to a close with Ant-Man.

Talking at a press event for Ant-Man yesterday, Kevin Feige had this to say about what's next for The Wasp (WARNING: POSSIBLE SPOILER AHEAD). "We have plans for her in the future, and we see that not-so-subtly in this film [Ant-Man]."

That confirms that Hope may end up suiting up by the time the credits roll then, but where could we see her next? Ant-Man 2 hasn't been confirmed, so perhaps Hope will join Paul Rudd's Scott Lang in Captain America: Civil War

Either way, it sounds like we're finally going to see The Wasp on the big screen very soon!

My theory is that Janet winds up in the Microverse. For some sciency type reason she ages slower their, and when she makes it back to our verse she's still in her prime and ready to become an Avenger.

OR

Hope is the new Wasp.

Could go either way.

@OmegaDaG0dd .....I wouldn't mind that!

Yea, I want to see Wasp in future Marvel movies. See her flirt with IM & Thor. Also have one cool shot we she can grow tall too.

Ant-Man franchise and most of the MCU is already [frick]ed,maybe they can still milking people and make money but except some movies(GOTG,TWS)Marvel movies at this moment are the most stupid,superficial,male chauvinist and hypocrite politically correct in whole Hollywood.

The trademark now is made grotesque movie like IM3,AOU and Thor franchise,so who give a [frick] about future plans.

^Wasn't it already confirmed that Janet was appearing in the movie in a flashback to when Hank is young and still the Ant-Man, fighting together....I'm pretty sure I already read that Wasp is in the film in the flashback. It'll be cool to see Hope take up the mantel as well though.

@Tempo...who pooped in your cereal dude?
Seriously, the franchise is successful for a reason. Nuff said.

Hope has to become Wasp at some point. Why else would they give her that stupid haircut?

@burningblue52 Yeah i read that too.

This is the marvel film i'm most looking forward too at the moment; i worry they're gonna make ironman a baddy in civil war, New avengers line-up sucks and Spider-man looks eight years old.

Not saying they won't all end up awesome, but antman is the only one i know Marvel is definitely not gonna mess up

@MexicanSuperman

Marvel wanted Ant-Man in phase 1 and wanted Wasp in Avengers. Edgar kept delaying it.

@Prophet11: You can continue to proselytize all you want its not gonna change anything,most of the Marvel movie are 50/60 on the metascore and 73-74% on RT at best,can you call this good reviews?
Marvel can make money with its Disney monopoly but I'd feel a retarded to appreciate films like IM3,blockbusters have the money but good movies have the history Blade Runner prove it,when you will be old nobody will remember these movies but movie like The Dark Knight or Burton's Batman will live forever.

A lot of hate for @Tempo, but he's right. Age of Ultron had way too much liberal PC shit in it for me to thoroughly enjoy it, Dark World was a sloppy mess in the editing room, thanks to Feige and Iron Man 3 was the biggest False-Flag propaganda shit-fest that I've ever seen in my life. Which is really funny considering Winter Soldier was pretty anti-new world order and little subtleties were hidden throughout like chem trails. MCU will get better though with McFeely and the Russo Bros. at the helm. I like Joss Whedon, don't get me wrong. He's like Kevin Smith; Super funny, really smart and is the best at doing what he does, but I'd never invite him into my house. Whedon is a terrible human being.

PFFFT. Absolutely none of Marvel's films are masterpieces. Some of the marvelites here need to open their eyes and watch real movies with plot, character, and emotion.

The ONLY CBMs that can even call itselves masterterpieces are The Dark Knight trilogy.

@TheRealRemyLebeau @marvelstudios The irony is that no matter how much you think Edgar Wright [frick]ed up Ant-Man, you guys are probably some of the more excited of what they're doing with the characters.

And wasn't it said Whedon removed Wasp because it became too much about her? Or are you inclined not to believe that?
