"I was… I was very disappointed,"  Michael Douglas told Schmoes Know about Marvel and Edgar Wright parting ways on the Ant-Man movie, in which the veteran actor plays Hank Pym. "I am a big fan of his movies. It’s a very disappointing situation. Happened very late in the game. I don’t think anybody’s quite recovered. My heart goes out to Edgar – he’s been involved  with the project for a long time. But he’s talented enough that you’ll be hearing a whole lot from him and I’m sure with a little vengeance." In a seperate interview with SFGate, Michael Douglas said he has always wanted to play a Marvel character, but what's more interesting is that the interviewer offhandedly made note that his character will "create a serum that turns humans into ants." I reached out to the reporter and she told me those were Douglas' exact words. However, upon request, she then sent me his "actual" quote about Hank Pym: "My character is a professor who, in the 1960s, designs a serum to make a human sized ant." Given the latter quote sort of contradicts what was said earlier, there's no telling which is accurate. What do you think?

Anyhow, with Marvel announcing a director soon, Ant-Man stars Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Michael Pena and Patrick Wilson, and will release July 17, 2015.
