Sounds Like ANT-MAN Reshoots Are Taking 'Scott Lang' Back To His Criminal Roots
You may recall that Marvel recently changed the Ant-Man synopsis to transform Scott Lang from a "con-man" into a "master-thief", but it's now being reported that some of the plot points they wanted to cut from Edgar Wright's draft have been reintroduced during reshoots...
According to Badass Digest, Ant-Man has undergone a few key changes during reshoots which have brought the movie back closer to where it was when Edgar Wright was still attached to write and direct. Now, Scott Lang is expected to be more of a crook when the movie kicks off, similar to his comic book counterpart. The change in description from "con-man" to "master thief" in the updated synopsis really bothered some fans, so this should come as welcome news. The site theorises that the success of Guardians of the Galaxy might have had something to do with Marvel now feeling comfortable reintroducing these roguish aspects of Scott's personality. Latino-Review's @umbertogonzalez meanwhile adds that, "[One] of the things I heard is that they're making Scott a criminal again with these reshoots - putting back the plot point they originally demanded be cut from Edgar Wright's draft."
