One of the unsolved mysteries from Marvel Studios' Ant-Man, was the final fate of Janet Van Dyne, a.k.a. the Wasp.  While it hasn't been revealed if she's alive or dead from entering the Quantum Realm, her on-screen daughter Hope Van Dyne (played by Evangeline Lilly) is holding out hope.

"Marvel hasn’t told me, but I kind of, again, fabricating my own… I think that she could be [alive] and that it could be a great," Lilly told Cinemablend. "I mean, I would love to see a storyline where Hope somehow, I don’t know, tries to find her mom or meets her or something happens where there’s some amazing reunion. I think that would be super cool, and I have my dream casting already, for my mom."

"It’s got to be Michelle Pfeiffer,"  Lilly said.

When the interviewer brought up Pfeiffer's previous role as Catwoman in Batman Returns, the former Lost star reveals that it's that previous superhero role that provoked her to want the actress to play Janet Van Dyne.

"That was my favorite of all time of all the comic book female characters, but Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman. Not just anybody or anything, not even like in the comic books, Michelle Pfeiffer," Lilly explained.

Lilly is 35 and Pfieffer is 57 which could fit as a daughter and mother; even more so than Douglas' fan cast of Zeta-Jones, who is 45.

Now I'm in the mood to watch Batman Returns.

Devito's Penguin is such an underrated villain. One of the best CBM villains of all time and Pfeiffer as Catwoman was awesome.

Catherine Zeta Jones please. And thank you.

With Catherine Zeta-Jones, you can make up some malarky about even though time doesn't matter, she still aged, but much more slowly than usual. Zeta-Jones is only 45 right. She'll be almost 50 when they film Ant-Man 2 (AKA Ant-Man and Wasp).

Haha, nice! Never knew about that, that's hilarious

I was looking at that pic of Catwoman Pfeiffer and it actually reminds me of Cara Delevingne, I wonder how Cara would fair in the Catwoman suit....

@PlasmaSnake

For Catwoman? IDK, I'd watch her as Catwoman

Seriously can't wait to see her as Enchantress though, I think she's gonna be good

Being in the Quantum Zone doesn't NECESSARILY mean that she wouldn't age. I think what's interesting is that the opposite could happen given that there is NO CONCEPT of time in their. When she gets out, what if she tells stories of watching herself age rapidly? Or age only to deage again. It would be cool and trippy (as this concept should be) if the entire time she was in there went by in a couple of hours to her. I know I sound high right now but there is some really cool shit they can do with this!

@VisionaryNPA I actually agree lol I wasn't saying that you were wrong any way. I just think it's interesting to think about it from the opposite end since in theory it could go either way.

I can't wait to have more of these conversations when Doctor Strange comes out, haha

As Pym describes it, in the Quantum Realm, "a reality where all concepts of time and space would become irrelevant and you shrink for all eternity"

But, Pym also doesn't know everything about the realm, he's still learning and trying to figure it out. But, if Janet is shrinking for all eternity, I'm not sure what actually means. She could still be aging, de-aging, or maybe staying the same just getting smaller and smaller. I can't wait to hear more about the Quantum Realm....

At first it reminded me of Limbo, and Inception but that's obviously different because their dreams....

I can't wait for Doctor Strange!! Haha, this stuff rocks

@Levitikuz Thank you! I knew I wasn't alone in that thought. I prefer it over the '89 Batman movie.
