AQUAMAN: Nicole Kidman Sheds Some Light On Her "Female Warrior" Role As Arthur Curry's Mother
We've known for a while that Nicole Kidman will play Atlanna in Aquaman, and the actress talks here about playing Arthur Curry's mother and the way the character will be portrayed in the movie.
All anyone can think of right now is Wonder Woman, but 2018 will see the release of Aquaman, a movie which looks like it has the potential to be perhaps the best DC Comics adaptation to date.
The cast is a big part of why that is and among the best additions is Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna, the Atlantean mother of Arthur Curry. While she'll likely appear only in flashbacks, it sounds like Kidman is excited about her role and that she'll end up seeing a fair bit of action in Aquaman.
"Well, James Wan is Australian, and he’s a friend of mine," Kidman said of landing the role in the upcoming movie. "I think he’s going to make an amazing movie. We’ve always circled each other, so when he came to me, I was like, ‘James, I’ll do anything for you.’ When he said ‘female warrior from the sea’ who wears mother-of-pearl, I went, ‘Yes. Female warrior from the sea. Me like.’"
That sounds awesome and hopefully points to yet another strong female character in the DCEU.
