First Comments On AQUAMAN Role From Jason Momoa; "Zack Snyder Is A Genius"

Below are a selection of Tweets from those who attended a panel featuring Jason Momoa yesterday at the Walker Stalker Con in Atlanta. A video or full transcript will hopefully be online soon, but this is the first time that the actor has been able to comment on playing Aquaman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Justice League and his own movie. There's nothing massively revealing here, though it's definitely interesting to hear Momoa's thoughts on playing the iconic DC Comics character. That mention of saving the universe could mean nothing or could be confirmation that there's something to those recent Brainiac and Darkseid villain rumours.

Don't read too much into that final image of him holding the Aquaman comic book with a bearded, one handed version of the character...or do! We'll hopefully learn more about his take on Arthur Curry soon. What do you guys think of these comments? Share your thoughts in the usual place.

I really don't want Wonder Woman or Aquaman to be handled like the Thor films. They can really be game changers for the different realm/civilization CBM genre. Still holding on to the tiniest inch of faith that Thor 3 will be a tremendous upgrade from it's previous predecessors.

And an entire film set to take place underwater? God, that's going to be something beautiful and totally different. The CGI is really going to have to be top notch. I wonder if they'll actually consider using realistic looking sea creatures? Too pumped.

Im glad they went with a Pacific Islander-Polynesian type actor. Momoa is also very intimidating and no one will definitely be making fun of Aquaman any longer.

Like I mean, they aren't dreadful and painful to watch but they have so much more potential to be what they already are. I love it how people exaggerate the need for the Thor films to be close to The Lord of he Rings films. (Characters, beast, monsters etc.) they just lack that awe from taking up too much time on earth and using Jane and Darcy for that paycheck. They add absolutely NOTHING to the films. Portman was better off in films like V for Vendetta because I'm not seeing the big fuss about her character in the films. KILL HER OFF or LEAVE HER FOR LADY SIF! smh

People really let their personal opinions of Man of Steel get in the way of seeing that Zack Snyder truly is a great film maker. Watchmen, 300, Dawn of the Dead, and imo Man of Steel are all great. MOS and Watchmen are two of my favorite CBM's even.

Aww man, I was kinda hoping we'd get "Ocean Master" as the main baddy for the first film. Perhaps they'll make a trilogy for him and save Black Manta last while keeping Ocean Master for the sequel. I fell in love with Aquaman from the Justice League cartoon series. He was so bad a** and the story arcs involving his character were superb.

Other than Justice League, The Aquaman movie will probably be the most expensive DC movie yet! I can't wait to see how they handle his character

that's the one thing upsetting about Thor 2, do we really need to go back to Earth soo much in the movie. I hope after GotG success, they learn that earth doesn't have to be a main focus to appeal to the general audience

I agree, they're probably planning it all out as we speak. We can basically say that everything for BvS is all left in the film shooting so now they have more than enough time to start planning out concept art pieces, scripts and more. Filming will most likely start late 2016 or early 2017 needless to say I'm assuming he'll appear in the Justice League films? So there's that too. WB is slowly coming into the spotlight. They just need to learn from other studios mistakes and thrust their maturity forward (of course while still giving is some beautiful visuals and action)

@TheRationalNerd except for the fact that apparently james cameron wants to do that first with avatar 2. Lets hope aquaman comes out first. Im just hoping this movie kicks ass and aquaman finally gets the respect he deserves. Once that happens i'll be picketing outside marvels door for a captain universe movie. Then all my favorite heroes will have their movies.

James Cameron is super busy with Avatar. I feel like James Cameron wouldve been one of the people that could visually make this happen
