Apparently, We've No Idea What AVENGERS 4 Is Going To Be

Avengers: Infinity War writers Chris Markus and Stephen McFeely talk more about what we should expect from next year's Avengers 4 and it definitely sounds like it's going to be a very different movie...

With so much attention on Avengers: Infinity War, it's easy to forget that Avengers 4 is a little over a year away from being released. As things currently stand, we know next to nothing about the Marvel Studios movie and that's the way Kevin Feige and company appear to like it! Regardless, it's been widely assumed that the untitled sequel will wrap up the battle between Earth's Mightiest Heroes and Thanos but recent comments from the movie's writers have now cast at least some doubt on that.

"We know pretty much what’s going on in Avengers 3," Stephen McFeely said, confirming that no fan theories have come close to figuring out what comes next. "You’ve been told who’s the bad guy and what he wants for several movies and it’s not going to change: that’s what’s going to happen. You run it in the best possible way with twists along the way, but you have no idea what Avengers 4 is."

"Nobody knows, and that’s what makes me particularly excited. I look all the time on the internet: people have no idea!" the writer added with great delight when asked to elaborate on that. "[Avengers] 4 resolves the intrigue of Infinity War; [the movies are] clearly linked, but they almost seem to belong to two different genres. We did not want to cut a film in half and say, 'Pay now and come back in a year for the rest!' These are two different stories, on a tonal and structural level."

At this point, it's hard to say whether or not Thanos will even factor into Avengers 4 but Marvel clearly has some big surprises in store for us, hence why the title is being kept under wraps! What are your theories for what's to come next May? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

@DoubleD - Join the club! But honestly, speculation about Infinity War is rampant, and is part of the fun, but even though I read this article I'm not thinking at all about Avengers 4. So many variations, possibilities, theories of the outcome....I'm just going to let it wash over me and take it from there.

@DoubleD - I hate it, but I love it

@DoubleD - it's basically another avengers sequel. Just don't think of it as a part 2 but a continuation of the story like how aou continued the original story.

@DoubleD -
It's probably adapting 'The Infinity Gauntlet' mixed with 'The Thanos Imperative'

@DoubleD - It works sometimes but for a while, studios were overdoing it with the part 1 & 2 Bullshit. I'm glad they chose not to go that route.

@Toecutter - I remember it was around when Halo 2 came out, and obviously Lord of the Rings that it became this craze that every story had to be sequels or trilogies. And many of the individual movies (or games) intentionally ended on an unsatisfying cliffhanger. Pain in the ass it was. I don't doubt them to be getting this one right though.

It's definitely a romantic comedy about how Thanos and Loki fell in love before Avengers 1

@FeedTheHorse - those were 2 stories though. 2 that happened to work as 1.

@Origame - Volume 1 ended on a massive cliff hanger. The bride was only 2 people into her death list 5 and we just learned her child was alive. You had to see volume 2 to see the end of the story.
Origame
Origame - 3/22/2018, 11:25 AM
@FeedTheHorse - the plot of part 1 was to kill the Lucy lu character. It just also functioned as a part 1. Like how a new hope was about destroying the death star but it was a part 1 about defeating the Empire. You can still see volume 1 alone and be satisfied.

@FeedTheHorse - kill bill was literally one film though. They cut it in half because it was too long.

Sorry to hear that @Nebula. When Nate’s Community post went up he was made aware of certain antics. This isn’t a good look for Josh in my opinion then as other articles have to be deleted in replace of his.

dracula

Maybe he isnt reffering to the movie after infinity war, maybe he still just thinks of them as one movie, and is talking about avengers 5

At this point in time everything is speculation.

It's obvious their not colllowing the comic books.

Even Thano's himself is very different from the comics. except for his looks

That is not a good thing.
GhostSurfer

@DoubleD - Thanos is the same character on screen that Starlin created, less the romantic angle with a womanly Death.

People believe that's what Thanos is all about based on a superficial understanding of the character. The amoral philosopher that's neither good or bad is the character Starlin created, and that's how the writers and directors have described him.

@GhostSurfer - even Starlin loved Thanks, and with as cranky as he can be, that's a good thing. so I'm excited for my boy Thanos to wreak havoc.
