AVENGERS: ENDGAME Star Chris Hemsworth Doesn't Know How The Film Ends Or If THOR Even Lives

As speculation surrounding our beloved Marvel heroes continues to grow as we near the release of Avengers: Endgame, Thor actor Chris Hemsworth reiterated that he doesn't even know his character's fate.

The secrecy surrounding the filming of Avengers: Endgame has been well-documented, with directors Joe and Anthony Russo confirming that not even the movie's stars were told everything about the upcoming blockbuster. In fact, they haven't even seen the movie in its entirety, which Thor actor Chris Hemsworth reaffirmed while appearing on The Ellen Show.

"It’s funny, I feel like a fan of this whole thing as much as anyone else, and I’m interested to see if I live or die or what happens to me [laughs]. I have a rough idea of what happens, but no, I have not seen the film and I really do not know how it ends," Hemsworth said.

The actor explained that because Infinity War and Endgame were filmed back-to-back, with writing, editing, and shooting overlapping, he wasn't really able to keep track of everything.

Hemsworth was asked if he plans to do another Marvel film if it turns out he isn't killed in Endgame. The actor skirted around the question in order to avoid spoilers but also added that he'd be happy to do another film in the MCU.

“This is sort of Marvel’s Phase Three wrapping up and culmination of all this journey, whether or not they go off and shoot other things — prequels or sequels or whatever they can do — I mean Loki (Tom Hiddleston), my brother, has come back nine times, every time he dies he just keeps appearing,” Hemsworth said. “So who knows what’s in store for anyone. Me personally, it’s the best fun I’ve ever had, and I’d be happy to do more if they wanted me. More than happy.”

While it's entirely possible that Hemsworth doesn't know how Avengers: Endgame ends, it's difficult to believe that he doesn't know the fate of his own character. After all, he would've had to film the scene. He's likely just playing coy in order to avoid spoilers, much like the rest of the film's cast has been doing (including the wonderful Chadwick Boseman).

In any case, we'll find out soon enough as Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26.

I have a feeling that out of the big three he's the one most likely to stick around in some capacity after Endgame. I mean, he just got the traction that Iron Man and Cap have experienced for a while now. have him pop up here and there in Guardians 3 or Strange 2 or something.

Well that means he must have filmed a scene where he dies. Because they're not gonna kill off Thor off screen.

@Nightwing1015 - possibly. Mark Ruffalo filmed a scene where he got dusted and one where he didnt so ur was a shock to see if he survived once he actually saw the film

They would be stupid to kill him off. He's come so far, we need Thor 4 with this new version of the character. Especially since Hemsworth seems down

He is BS'ing big time. Unless he shot multiple scenes including a death scene how would he not know? Makes no sense.

That is a vague understatement, and he is particularly referencing what is next to come and if a next movie will officially happen. There is spades of the movie that they each know nothing about, but they all generally know how the movie ends (especially the core six + the main additional players of Endgame - Captain America memorial 😭.) That the press are still asking these lame obvisous questions is the worst part, given that they know how this whole game is played by now. But Hemsworth knows how the film/story specifically ends.

The three characters that I want to survive are....

3.Captain America
2.Thor
1.The Hulk

Everyone else, not worried who dies out of them.
