Last month, a
casting call for Marvel's highly-anticipated film
The Avengers was sent out to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base located in Wilmington, Ohio. And now according to
Dayton Daily News, the "airmen extras" the studio were in search of have been found; along witha speaking role for the base's Staff Sgt. Demoine Kinney. Revealing his excitement for the minor role, as well when and where his scene will take place and who with, heres what Kinney had to say.
About 50 Wright-Patterson airmen will also be used as uniformed extras in a scene filmed on an aircraft carrier, playing sailors, not fliers. “As I understand it, I will have lines to say and I will be in the deck scene (on an aircraft carrier) along with Samuel Jackson and Robert Downey Jr. Yes, me. That’s all I know about the movie at this point.” Kinney didn’t audition in person. His manager had sent clips of his performances to Albuquerque Studios, which is doing some of the filming for Marvel. “The next day, I got a call from Albuquerque. That made it official. I’m really looking forward to this opportunity,” he said. Shooting is scheduled Aug. 1-4 for the scenes being shot in Wilmington. “It’s a true blessing,” said Kinney, 25.
In case you don't already know, the "aircraft carrier" mentioned above is likely the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier, which is reportedly the largest set piece Marvel Studios have built for a film. Anyhow, the San Diego Comic-Con convention is next week, and Marvel will surely make it a week to remember with tons of surprises; notably including an
