We all know how unreliable IMDb is. However, they have on occasion been right about some things! Why an Earth (or should that be Asgard?) would there be a Frost Giant in
The Avengers? Recent rumors have indicated that part of the movie WILL take place in Thor's realm.
However, what's really interesting about this though, is the addition of Felicia Day as S.W.O.R.D Agent Abigail Brand...especially as it was
The Avengers director Joss Whedon who created that character during his run on comic book series, "Astonishing X-Men". Plus, the actress has previously worked with Whedon on
Buffy the Vampire Slayer and
Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. And if that wasn't enough to get you interested, remember
DCMarvelFreshman's article last year where Day stated that she'd be more than happy to take a role in the movie? No? Check it out
here.
Not much is known about Abigail since little has been revealed about her personal life. Aside from her age, the only thing known about her is that she is a commanding officer of both S.H.I.E.L.D. and S.W.O.R.D. which is dedicated to the defending the Earth against extraterrestrial threats.
What do you think? Would Felicia Day make a good Abigail Brand? Is the inclusion of this character yet another indication that the movie will see the team take on an outer space threat such as the Skrulls? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place!
UPDATE: Well, it was a nice thought while it lasted, but IMDb have once again been shown up as an incredibly unreliable source of information. Here's what Felicia Day herself seemingly had to say about the rumors less than one hour ago via Twitter:
With an all star cast which includes Chris Evans as Captain America, Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Rufallo as Bruce Banner, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Tom Hiddleston as Loki,
The Avengers is set to be released on May 4, 2012!
