In case you weren't aware, a few years ago Darren Aronofsky wrote a treatment for a Batman reboot that would eventually morph into Chris Nolan's Batman Begins. His script was apparently waaaaay out there. And deviated in numerous ways to the Batman we know and love. Now Harry over at AICN just posted these very interesting quotes from Aronofsky from an interview with Clothsonfilm...
CoF: Speaking of which, you’ve worked in the comic-book medium before, with your adaptation of The Fountain (2006), and the tie-in book to Pi. Do you ever feel like realising your vision of something like the Batman story that you were working on as a comic book?
DA: Well, we’re actually doing one. It hasn’t really been announced, I don’t know if I should give you the scoop! But we’re getting there. We’re doing a comic book of a script that’s really hard to make and we’re going to do a comic version first and see what happens…
Sounds like he's fairly sure that something is in the works to me. And even if nothing materializes after the comic we will get to see what that controversial take on Batman is like in comic form. What do you think? Could Aronofky take over the franchise after Nolan's trilogy? Is he talking about a totally separate film project?
