Gotham City Police Vehicle Spotted In Chicago: Is TDKR Filming There After All?

It was previously reported that Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises would not be filming in Chicago after all, but this shot of a GCP vehicle sent in by a scooper to SHH suggests differently..

I might have proof that they are shooting The Dark Knight Rises here in Chicago.

I was making a delivery at an auto parts store in Rolling Meadows and I drove past an automotive paint and decal shop and saw a GPD SUV parked out front.


I guess this could mean quite a number of things. It's possible the vehicles are simply being painted up there and shipped somewhere else. Interestingly the first pic leaked from the Batman Begins set was a GCP vehicle too.

Maybe it'll be used for a flashback scene, i.e, when the Waynes were still alive. I say this because that's an older model ford explorer.

I live in Chicago and I'm pretty sure I have seen this driving around for quite a while. I think its just a fan who either bough a car from the movie or someone who painted their car.

Maybe the person in charge of marking the police cars is dyslexic? He thinks thats right so they had to take it back to get the decal changed

If it was outside of a paint shop... maybe the cars are just getting made in Chicago.

BUT, I'm sure there's other cities in the world that start with the letter "G".

@Ryan- you can't drive around with "POLICE" on your vehicle if you a civilian. I think it's a left over, but I can't remember seeing any GPD SUVs. Anyone confirm this???

I used to live in Rolling Meadows, Elgin now for those in the Chi... I think I remember seeing this vehicle on Algonquin Rd... just East of Rt. 53...there's an Auto Zone and some other stuff around there... might be wrong, did anyone double check to see if the guy gave up the location????

@Moakynubs there is others cities in the world that start with a G. However if you look at the center of the door it clearly says "City of GOTHAM Police Department" ...
