Joseph Gordon-Levitt will appear in Christopher Nolan's upcoming film The Dark Knight Rises, but he might not be the person you expect. He will be playing a new villain that is connected to Batman Begins

Sources had the following to say: "Well he has signed on to the film in a villainous role previously undisclosed until now. Levitt will be portraying Alberto Falcone aka the Holiday Killer. He is the estranged son of former mob boss Carmine Falcone (portrayed by Tom Wilkinson in Batman Begins) who returns to Gotham to take over the underworld once fiercly ruled by his father before the arrival of Batman."

let the supporters rejoice let the fanboys who got it wrong find something to moan about

Well, interesting...but sounds like it would be a bit of villain overkill...

@Bamf7
it really just depends on the villain overkill.
In Knightfall Bane pretty much waited until Batman was exhausted to "break the back". That could be what they are going with. I really don't see Nolan doing that though, but its possible

He looks just like him in "long Halloween" good fit.

I just read the Long Halloween the other day lol
Besides whether this is true or not, he's a visual fit for the part anyway.

im being a hypocrate hear, but i have faith in nolan. its his last film so i have faith that if he wants to not only end this thing with a bang, but also pull out all the stops, then i dont care who he casts.

@Bamf-If JGL is indeed Alberto, that would be 3 villains. Batman Begins had at least 4, and Dark Knight had at least 6.

Certainly fits if true...all the mob bosses were killed off in TDK...open for someone to come in and take over i guess.

I still have trouble with bane being in this. I like the character it just doesn't seem to fit right with me. I think hardy would have been a great riddler. I had high hopes for begins and loved it. I had even higher hopes for TDK and l loved it, but this movie doesn't feel right to me I don't know why. I hope and probably will be proven wrong

Oh, shut the f*ck up, Grif. You're a cynical turd-monger. I, on the other hand, approve of this. We did get wind that old reflections from the first movie would be presented in the third, so this is good news. Since all the mob is dead, new guns need to show up. The Holiday Killer sounds beautiful to me, which Mr. Levitt will shine in the role. Nolan sure knows how to make a cast. O_o

i dont see anything wrong with having alberto falcone in the film. it makes sense but i would like to wait until there has been an OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT by C-Nol.

@blackpanther717...i agree with U he will not be holiday but some sort of mob presence in the film.

@ drob127..

i thing the movie isnt sitting right 4 u cuz the joker wont be in it...eveybody wants the joker....im sure u wanted to see him in TDKR no matter what capacity his role would have been

ur unsure of where the story will go with bane at the helm

I'm sure Nolan won't make the same mistakes that Shitmaker did, but I'm still a little wary of villain overkill.
Jokerrises

Alberto Falcone would be a nice connection to the first movie. If Talia is also involved, then it would be a double revenge on Batman and maybe Bane is brought in to do the job being his physical and intellectual equal. It would tie in well.Also isn't Catwoman connected to the Falcones in Long Holloween? Lastly it seems Dent being exposed in the third film would be an important element in any redemtion of Batman. This would also include the role of Gordon and likely the mayor in covering up Dent's crimes. Also if Riddler isn't in this then he at least deserves a tease at the end. He's a major rogue.

There are just way tooooo many freakin rumors around this movie. Until it’s on an official Warner Bros. press release I’m not believing it.
sbdc1939
sbdc1939 - 2/13/2011, 11:08 PM
I think thats fine, he'll problably be seen as much as salvatore maroni in TDK and we still dont know if ann hathway will be catwoman or just selena kyle through out the majority of the film so i dont really think there is a problem with multiple villians, technically all the movies have had multiple villians. Nolan has chosen to use these characters in limited intervals in order to expose to them with out going into detail.

For the last time...

JOSEPH GORDON-LEVITT WON´T PLAY ALBERTO FALCONE!!!!!
Jett from BOF already confirmed it.
It was a fan suggestion that turned out to be a rumor...nothing else.

@sbdc1939

I don't think he would have gone through the trouble of making her "Selina Kyle" if there was no Catwoman. He could have just as easily made her Vicki Vale, Vesper Fairchild, Silver St. Cloud, or made up his own like he did with Rachel.

@grif

lol i think you're posting in the wrong timeline bro, i think your post with your batman and robin video came in 13 years late. this is 2011 my man, 6 years after 2005. and 2005 is the year when the reboot you're talking about already happened.

@ckyallie

That's not true. Don't get me wrong if Heath was still here of course I would want him to be in it. I just feel like bane doesn't fit in the world Nolan created.
