It's no secret that Academy Award-winners Matt Damon (The Martian) and Ben Affleck (Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice) have been the best of friends since they were young kids growing up in the great city of Boston, but with both actors gearing up to star in films that feature their most iconic characters to date, it's only right to ask the age-old question: who would kick who's ass? Jason Bourne or the Batman?
Well, according to Damon, his Jason Bourne would have no problem dismantling Affleck's Batman whatsoever. When asked the question at the Toronto International Film Festival, while promoting his upcoming critically acclaimed release The Martian, Damon, with a big smile, replied: "Jason Bourne would kick the s--t out of Batman - absolutely!... Batman's gotta take on Superman first, if he could beat him, then maybe he could take on Jason Bourne." Now, those are some fighting words! To follow up on that, E! Online asked whether Damon had heard Affleck's Batman voice yet? Damon laughed and said: "I haven't been like, 'Come on, dude, just do it once,' I haven't asked him to talk Batman yet, but now maybe I will."
When further inquired about why he, himself, hadn't tackled any comic book superheroes yet, Damon had this to say: "I think they're kind of out of superheroes, Ben's going to be like the sixth or seventh Batman, so I don't think there's really any left. So I'm good. Jason Bourne is my superhero." Now, while we may know that there are still plenty of superheroes that could still be brought to life in the MCU and/or the DCEU, he does make a solid point, especially considering that almost all of the A-list and a good portion of prominent B-list superheroes have already been cast. Plus, with Jason Bourne's illustrious resume and another Bourne trilogy potentially on the horizon, he really doesn't need a superhero to tackle in the near future as like he said, his Bourne is already a superhero for the ages.
So what do you guys think? Bourne or Batman? Sound off with your thoughts below!
