RUMOR: THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Flawless, Surmounts THE DARK KNIGHT

Take it with a grain of salt but a source for Cosmic Book News is reporting that The Dark Knight Rises is a better film than the masterpiece, The Dark Knight. Potential spoilers ahead as there are some fairly vague descriptions."

A "reliable source" for Cosmic Book News is reporting that his friend has seen a rough cut of The Dark Knight Rises and calls it, "a flawless movie." And that is some high praise since the supposed viewer didn't even get to see all the CGI shots completed.

It is one of those films that leaves you on the edge of your seat much like The Dark Knight did, in that it feels like a rollercoaster, like you have no idea where the story will go. I have been told a summary of the movie, and I definitely don't want to spoil it, but if you think you know where it is heading, think again!

Catwoman is more in line with the comics than people think despite her not having a whip or cowl.

It's more character driven and less about looks. Bane is so frickin' ruthless it's bad, like Joker is crazy and does his crimes on a whim in any style; Bane is like a freight train and has the city bricking it.

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20th 2012 and stars Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth, Gary Oldman as Jim Gordon, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake and Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate.

Obviously calling bullshit on the rumor, but it wouldn't surprise me if it coincidentally turned out to be true.

I'm hoping it is better than The Dark Knight. But there's no way it'll be better than Batman Begins. That movioe was dope.

Can't definitively say it will be a better film, isn't that a matter of opinion?

I don't see anything that could tell me that this person saw the film. All he is saying is basically what we already know.

Also, I have a third cousin who saw Man of Steel and he told me it was great.

Not very surprised. Nolan said before that he wouldn't even make a third Batman film unless it'd be as good as The Dark Knight (if not better). Plus, before production, Wally Pfister and Gary Oldman both said that the story was better than TDK. So I'm expecting TDKR to be about as good, if not better.

I'm not a 'marvelite' or anything, but i just didn't really care for The Dark Knight. It was good and all but points of it ran too long for me to be absorbed into the film. Not trying to hate just sharing my opinion.

I know it's an opinion to say " BEST CBM OF ALL TIME" but IMO if TDKR is better than TDK then it's got to be the best CBM of all time because TDK is the current champion.

Cosmic Book News are full of shit, I've mailed every editor, you included Nail, about this but you continue to give them credence by posting their crap. When it's quite they literally pull stuff out of their asses to report on.

Wow.. I love Nolan's films. And I really love BB&TDK, but this movie definitely has me going in with hesitant optimism.
CaptainObvious

I doubt it. A director like Nolan wouldn't allow a random person to see the movie unless they were closely working on it. With Nolan directing this, it's safe to assume that if anybody claims to have seen the movie even though they haven't worked on it is probably lying.

I wouldn't doubt the movie is near "flawless". Not saying this rumor is true, but based off some of what we seen I think it looks and sounds great. Especially the story and characterization. Though, I hope they edited the prologue, again.

Is it not also just a matter of opinion on whether or not The Dark Knight is the greatest cbm of all time??? Because to me, Watchmen and Iron Man are top runner for greatest cbm of all time. They have the look and feel of a comic book adapted to a movie. The Dark Knight, imo, doesn't. But Heath Ledger's Joker is my all time favorite villain. Aside from Vader, that is.

I honestly think Anne Hathaway will steal the movie. I truly think her performance will be fantastic.

Is it too early to call Best Supporting Actress.

Imagine the Academy giving an Oscar to someone for playing Catwoman?

Heh. I can believe this. Nolan focuses more on story and character development more than most movies out there. I have no doubt in my mind that this story will be an atom bomb. And especially despite the look of the main characters involved.

It's hilarious, they don't even have the balls to make up some proper details..it's all stuff that they won't be able to be proven wrong on when the movie does come out, whether people believe this or not.

"Wait a minuet now, that description said Bane was like a freight train, to me it was more a steam engine.."

2gold - 4/22/2012, 9:25 AM
So wait, the guy doing the story admits he isn't the one who saw it, but his unnamed source who gave him a summary is the one who calls it flawless? Really? "Well my third cousin's niece's nephew's great aunt's best friend's brother's son said it was flawless."

That's not reporting, that's terrible. I can believe it's going to be amazing. Heck, can even buy it'll have a better story than Avengers. I wouldn't be shocked if it has a lot of action. But that above, that is pure insulting to the word "news" and it was already being tossed around into the walls until it was a bloody heap.

So, just to clarify, this is a rumor that one person has the opinion that TDKR is better than TDK. I'd be happy if it was true because that would mean it's one hell of a movie. However, seems a bit shady.

Please, TDK was not a masterpiece. Was it good? Sure. But the plot was stupid, Batman had no detective skills, and the only reason it's immortalized is because of Heath Ledger and his Joker (who is NOT the same character as the comics, but Nolan's new character in a purple suit).
