Warner Bros. Says There Is "No Truth" To The New Audio Mix For THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

If you were hoping that the rumor that surfaced yesterday was true, then bad news... It seems that Warner Bros. is saying that nothing has changed as far as Bane's voice goes. Check it out...

Well, that was fast. Yesterday, it was reported that Warner Brothers have changed (cleaned up) the audio for The Dark Knight Rises IMAX prologue, so people could understand Bane in the film, since there were many complaints about that. And now it seems that is not true after all.

From The New York Times writer Dave Itzkoff (via The Playlist):

"Warner Bros. says "no truth" to reports of new Dark Knight Rises prologue trailers going out with fixed Bane audio."

Starring Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard and Morgan Freeman, The Dark Knight Rises is set to hit theatres on July 20, 2012.

I didn't see it in IMAX but I was able to understand Bane fine on the bootleg. Never expected Nolan to change a thing.

The fact is that there are a number of people that cannot or have trouble understanding him. Even if you yourself can, its probably a good idea to fix it. Because as many of us forget, Nolan is not perfect.

Don't be so quick to debunk this. TheFilmStage tweeted that NYTimes guy back.

@ditzkoff viewers have seen both and reporting that it is indeed a much cleaner version. Looks like they just don't want to own up.

Why would they 'fix' it? It's really not that hard to understand, especially if you've seen the high quality prologue.

I enjoy his voice. All that is left is for my to buy the tickets and enjoy this last film in the Nolan trilogy. Hell who knows? Maybe if WB throws enough money at Nolan, he'll come back for a fourth.

I think his voice is perfect. Knew this would be debunked sooner or later.

There's nothing wrong with the voice! I heard it just fine. The prologue's voice was a bit misunderstandable at times because it was caught on a camera. Stop trying to nitpick at the movie. If I can understand, so can you..

Love the new Bane. He seems quite scarey. I like that his voice sounds like he's damaged in some frightening manner.

makes sense. Why would they re-edit the footage and re-send it to theaters?

I think I have listened to it 5 or 6 times and I haven't had any trouble hearing what he was saying. Glad to hear this is a rumour as Nolan has already said No to making changes to it.

Tho, the music volume could be pulled back a bit in the trailer.

I could barely understand Bane too. You shouldn't have to struggle and guess to understand a performance. I don't mind a gruff voice, but it is unintelligible. I hope they find a good balance before the release date.

Nooooo!! sigh Man I cant say it gonna be bad but some bits in the prologue it was not clear like What does he say before he says "we need to know what he(dr Povel) said about us?"

I just hope while watching the movie I dont miss important points because of his voice. I just wanna lean back and watch the epic conclusion of B man easily.

I agree if they want to change ANYTHING, maybe pull back the music/background while he talks a bit. But his voice itself is fine.

I agree with GeneralZod1138. I saw this in IMAX and his voice was great but the additional noise from the plane/music, etc. kinda drowned him out in a couple of small places. If anything, just tweak the sounds levels.
