We've been hearing rumblings online for months that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will introduce Namor the Sub-Mariner and the Marvel Cinematic Universe's version of Atlantis. Whether that's true or not remains to be seen, but we have heard that Tenoch Huerta - who the trades confirmed is the movie's villain - could be declaring "Imperious Rex!" in Ryan Coogler's sequel.
Now, Murphy's Multiverse is reporting that Namora may have also been cast in the movie.
They've heard that Mabel Cadena is among those being eyed for the role of Namor's cousin, while it's worth noting that she and Huerta have recently started interacting more on social media. That could be what the site is basing this scoop on, but we'll give them the benefit of the doubt here...well, unless Daredevil doesn't show up in Spider-Man: No Way Home as they've previously claimed!
Regardless, it's said that Cadena (whose credits include Netflix's Monarca and Dance of the 41) fits much of what Marvel Studios is looking for, and as a founder of the Agents of Atlas, Namora could be a key player in the MCU moving forward. She's one of Namor's closest allies, anyway.
The prospect of whoever inherits the Black Panther mantle from T'Challa battling Namor - and an all-out war between Wakanda and Atlantis - is certainly exciting, so here's hoping this pans out.
Do you think Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will take us into the murky depths of Namor's home?
