The Black Panther has been an extremely diverse character effort due on Marvel's own part. It features a rich African landscape and centralized story in the same background and nature involving well translated characters. It has also been rumored at some point he will join The Avengers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It's a great story to begin with, the only problem is will the audience understand such an intense level of powerful detail to that background. The film Thor often struggled in the balance of the landscape in Asgard to Earth including the customs. So in good decisions it would be best to re-imagine the story of The Black Panther. I do believe in intentions it doesn't feel right to have a deep rooted story set in an environment so converse and the general populous of the setting not as "race" in tune or widely different in comparisons with Marvel's previous phase films. Also it would be best not knowing if people from the same culture would take offence to the portrayal.

For my suggestion to make The Black Panther more geared for a general audience is as follows.

________________________________________________________________________

1. Make Wakanda is a City Located in South Africa instead of a Country : There has been talk The Avengers 2 will film there. It's a great location and in my opinion would set up the perfect modern day Wakanda as a city itself. The technology shouldn't be alienated to the world but in tune with what today has in modern society. It should look as a normal South African city with true to life real people for it to be understandable. The heavy political basis as seen in the original Black Panther could be kept and enriched to a more standard government basis. It could be done and translated in a way it just doesn't push the original material back.
________________________________________________________________________

2. Character Name Changes : Most of the character names relating to the original Black Panther are very difficult to understand and pronounce. If given more modern name changes it will help the story progress through the audience even more. Also some of the names are debatable stereotyped to the culture itself. The name changes idea I have in mind suits the plot of the story as follows with a few examples of how it could work:

T'Challa - Terry Challace
T'Chaka - Thomas Akan
S'Yan - Yin Si
Erik Killmonger - Erick Monger
________________________________________________________________________

3. Different Origins : We know the concept involving The Black Panther involves heavy mythos including symbolism involved. What if The Black Panther itself in this new take was a secret military experiment. Created similarly through the Super Soldier program that was seen in Captain America.
________________________________________________________________________

4. The Story Idea : Terry Challace is an orphaned boy who grew up in the streets of the secluded urban city known as Wakanda. He does not know who he is and has idea of his mysterious past until now everythjng is about to come full cictcle in his life. Located within the city lies it's secrets and an experimental base rumoured to hold a powerful rock known as Vibranium. On an unfortunate evening Terry is randomly selected and taken by heavily armed men into the facility for secret research being done on a new ghost formula known as "The Black Panther". Here in the very same facility he meets his long lost father Governor Thomas Akan who is dying of sun radiation. He explains he has been developing a physical formula known as "The Black Panther" designed to enhance the mind and strength of ordinary humans. He wants Terry his only Son to be the test subject for the only dose of the formula that has been created which was derived from the Vibranium rock partially.

Terry agrees and goes through a long and psychological process. There he meets allies including a soldier named Erick Monger who he befriends. On the same day Terry is about to be injected with the formula a man named Klaw and a group of his following pirates rides into town. Klaw an adventuring pirate has heard of the rumors of the powerful Vibranium and will stop at nothing for control of the rock and the city itself. Klaw ravages the city of Wakanda tearing down buildings and turning the citizens against each other in a massive riot. While this is happening Terry is asleep undergoing the surgical process of the formula in a secluded room. He is injected with the Vibranium induced formula and soon after Klaw including his men break down into the facility demanding Governor Thomas Akan. Thomas surrenders and is shot by Klaw brutally. The soldiers of Wakanda hold a fight against Klaw but they are helpless to his strategic wits. Terry soon wakes up to a city in siege and questions to his life that may never be answered after finding Thomas slowly dying on the ground in front of the facility, he mumbles the words Klaw before he passes.

A wounded Erick Monger appears blaming the incident on Terry for the doing of this act of evil. Erick Monger pulls out a gun and shoots Terry. The bullet instantly bounces off him with Terry in shock. He is now virtually indestructible due to the formula. Terry runs away from Wakanda before anyone can catch up to him and untimely falls into a river from a cliff sending him upstream to a local village. There he meets a girl named Sherry who rescues him and a cast of new people willing to help him. Soon he sets his sights on the mysterious Klaw who has taken the throne of Wakanda and plans to take back his city while avenging the death of his father.
________________________________________________________________________

5. Powers and Abilities / Costume : Through the formula he receives super strength and speed including being nearly indestructible. The costume is a cloak made from the skin of a real panther he earns from a town doctor in another part of the story.
________________________________________________________________________

Main Casting Choices : These choices are set particularly in tune with the story I have created including the characters that have few traits relating to the original.

1. Alex Pettyfer as Terry Challace / The Black Panther - Originally known as T'Challa in the comics. Pettyfer is a brilliant actor. He has the perfect young and ambitious traits to play such a serious role as this really lost character in the story.

2. Bryan Cranston as Governor Thomas Akan - Originally the role as T'Chaka in the comics, this new version foresees the character as a major controversial political figure. Cranston can pull off a very deep role like this. This is a role which requires absolute believability since he only appears for a short time in the story. This is a role which you need the audience to instantly recognize and remember your importance which is why I feel Cranston has that remarkable sense of talent towards.

3. Ken Watanabe as Yin Si - Originally the role as S'Yan in the comics. In this portrayal he is Japanese scientist who helped developed the "The Black Panther" formula. Watanabe is a really great actor and versatile in this type of roles. Notable for his comic book role in Batman Begins he would make a great addition.

4.Robert Pattinson as Erick Monger - Originally Erik Killmonger in the comics this new version sees the character is close friends to Terry Challace before turning into the dark side of life as Wakanda is turned upside down. Pattinson is an extremely versatile actor which has his capabilities of pushing those boundaries. This role would need to relate with the main character in interaction and friendship at the start which I see this actor is in great desire of talent to make it so believable.

5.Chad L. Coleman as Klaw - In this version of Klaw he does not have his signature abilities or trademark hand but is still extremely deadly. He is a leader of a band of S. Pirates and ravagers. I haven't seen much of this actor but to me he would make the perfect adversary and nemesis for this movie.

6.Dwayne Johnson as Ape - Originally Man-Ape in the comics. In this version he is a member of Klaw's band of pirates. He is his right hand man and a fellow trust. One of the most powerful of the group and the strongest. He goes head to toe with Terry Challace near the end. What more to say about the Rock other than he is awesome.

7.Alexandra Daddario as Sherry - An original character created for the film. She is the love interest for Terry Challace. I think I had found a decent actor who definitely had experience in these type of mature roles.

8.Michael Pena as White Wolf - This version of White Wolf is a code name for an elite Soldier working with Wakanda. He is eventually sacrificed in the story. He is also a well known leader. I recently saw the actor in the film End of Watch and he would make a great leadership role as this character needs to be.
________________________________________________________________________

Title of Movie: Marvel's The Black Panther or The Panther

Director: Sam Mendes - His work on films such as Skyfall and Jarhead is truly remarkable. He knows how to create a substance environment and a feel for a movie of this general nature.

Composer: Hans Zimmer - Great and brilliantly talented composer, must I explain more?
________________________________________________________________________

Conclusion: I know this seems a little of an unsettling idea but this is what I believe needs to be done in order to see the character on the screen and with The Avengers. A highly diverse origin with an environment that is not limited but expansive and open ended. Please sound off your thoughts on what you think of my brilliant idea below in a civil manner.

I don't know what to say...............there's nothing left of the Black Panther with what you did here. You changed everything. Is this a joke? Seriously? I don't want to be a dick, but why would it have to be changed so drastically? I'm sorry man, I would refuse to watch this if it got made, and I have never done that before.

@WYLEEJAY

As you will see in my editorial of the same character an how to adapt him, this is one character that needs to be different from it's comic counter part to work on screen, however not to the ridiculous level presented in this editorial "Terry Challace", "urban setting", [frick] it this guy is clearly taking the piss, waste of my bandwidth to even read this.

I once wrote an article saying that we need to support ALL of these films, and that boycotting doesn't do this genre any good. This article proves me wrong. I would boycott this shit. For the love of god I hope nobody at Marvel sees this and gets any ideas.

@Ocelot: Nothing needs to be changed. It would perfectly fine.

Whoever this JackyLegacy guy is, he obviously does not respect the source material. This is exactly like the movie, Catwoman. Nothing but the name resembles its comicbook counterpart. Dude get the [frick] out of here!

@Fangz. I respect you a lot. I enjoy reading your posts, and from what I can remember, we have never reallly been opposing. This would make for an original character just fine, but there's nothing of the Black Panther mythos left in this. I can't believe it actually bothers me this much.

If they were to ever make the Black Panther white I would start a riot! I'm all done with changing a character's race but only if his race isn't a big part of the character. I'm ok with electro being black (even though his black in the ultimate spider-man comics) Johnny storm being black (I really want Michael B jordan to play him) but making Black Panther white is like making super-man asian.

@ Levi. I don't take him seriously, but I will never filter my thoughts when it comes to Jacky. He was very disrespectful in the thread for my first article I wrote. Him and only him. I even caught him talking about me in the public chat, now I can take criticism, and I don't hold a grudge, but if I think something he does is crap, I'm DEFINITELY gonna speak my mind freely, where with other users I would probably just skip the thread altogether cause I don't like to be disrespectful.

This was a very serious editorial I wrote and I am disappointed barely anyone can handle the maturity to discuss this idea in a logical process of manner. I am very upset indeed. I took a lot of time to write this serious issue which is at matter right now. The level of detail I went through and barely no one here wants to logically accept such a phase in a way to understand the true words of my own thoughts from this editorial. Damn, I got caught in the realm of the dead and you never believed it was possible. Why can't you believe my words are real, this is truly from my heart as I want more dignity. I want more respect among you fellow individuals and look what happens when I write a serious editorial I am taken as a joke and a pawn to the wrong bloody chess game. Why oh why is this happening, I can't believe this. I thought I could do some good in this world. I thought I could bring knowledge, talent, and a sense of humour that would cater to everyone's likes. I thought I would become the one true man to do this.....well this is the end of the road as everyone truly says for a man's life.....the leap of faith awaits my cruel soul.

@Jacky. You reap what you sow. Karmas a bitch. Do unto others...........I think you get my point. You try so hard to write in a manner, that YOU think transcends writing. Your words are a jumbled mess that sound more like riddles. You try too hard. You think that it requires more intelligence to understand your point, or more imagination. The fact is you just can't do what your trying to do. Its not everyone else, its you. Your not good at it.

I AM GOOD at what I do! It's damn simple minded people like you that can't understand my own thoughts it's damn true in the name of flippen whales of the sea! I will never stop writing my editorials and I will never give up on my words which I know are brilliantly well put in my own logical sense. I will always be that one person breaking through those damn winds and coming out strong like a mighty raven in the sky! You may go hard on me and you may try to shut my words down but remember this you are no more than a bully and you should be ashamed of yourself taking the arrow to one man's legacy. This arrow you took to mine is coming out and I'm bleeding in hypocrisy to believe I would see through the evil you have shined upon my words! Good Day Sir!

Its funny. When you were Mysteriousstranger you didn't talk like this. You talked like a teenager who was learning to type. Who trash talked people in every article. Who posted that stupid gif of Bale with that axe. You change your name, try to type differently, and think people are fools who can't see it. Your a hypocrite. To call someone a bully, your a disrespectful little shit. Your a fake, a poser if you will. You reap what you sow.

No, I have learned my past and mended my own mistakes. I have gotten better and far more to know the world as it is today. Have you given up all logic to suddenly create such a violent and filthy response. Have you given up your own logic for violence and replaced your soul with the wrath of hell in mind. It is you who has become disrespectful. Look at yourself now and read over your own words kindly. You have become the bully now. Is it I who has mended your ways to become this or was it you as a man that has lost all hope for humanity to resort to this ugly nature, this critical phase of darkness. I will pray for the light to have mercy on your soul. I am sorry for what you have become in the process of my own actions. I fear my mortal nemesis which is you is on the verge of a breakdown. I fear you will.

I changed my name because I fully understand myself now, this is my legacy I am creating and I am rising above myself.

"I do believe in intentions it doesn't feel right to have a deep rooted story set in an environment so converse and the general populous of the setting not as "race" in tune or widely different in comparisons with Marvel's previous phase films." WOW that little sentence(?) shows me everything I need to know about you!! I usually try to keep an open mind about the opinions people post but this...if this is a serious attempt at a fan fic...well a small part of me just died this is the most disrespectful fan fic I have ever come across. It was so bad it ruined my entire day.I am all for color blind casting but the Black Panther has to be black African. You are made out as a joke because you think you are this great writer you choose shit topics and write shit opinions on them not to mention you use big words for the sake of using big words. You are a hack to the highest degree and your writing privileges should be taken away for the rest of your life. It's called proofreading and editing and getting a God Damn dictionary should help you understand some of the out of place words you used. Go back to school dude It's people like you that make people laugh at guys like @levi, who actually writes really good script and screenplay ideas, because people catch one whiff of this kind of literary abortion and they assume every fanboy with a keyboard writes shit like this. I respect everybody even before I know them but you...you are a joke and don't even deserve the notion of respect from any of the real users on this site. You should be ashamed. TSK,TSK,TSK

Eh, thou doth make a mockery of thy own words I created and I feel no insurance of hurt towards myself? Why, it because I understand the hatred I have implanted like a shattered fragment beyond a minds parallel land. My visions to words is not for all to understand such as you and no place for thou to lime upon the bitter rooms of seeds. I understand your hatred and sense of darkness upon me and I feel I should make an apology upon thy matters at once for the sacred lies as you see them in your mind. What a shrivel of a day I never thought I could make matters of a worse stone to cast in the sea of the blue fires. It is not a spicy refrain but something that taste so gritty and of fiery intentions I see fit to say I am sorry even though thou has defied my own words purely. It is a line I have crossed but I am willing to pay the bridge to cross over the never ending field of knowledge. Best and true within the galaxies of the seven wonders comes in the deep abyss of the unbreakable legends to the dawn of the days from the close encounters from the third kind of the Earth to the termination of the silence of the brilliace as thy escape from the die hard history of transforming lethal weapons of the mind has something never been so cruel as my own words have been. I apologize good sir.
