Kevin Fiege & Lauren Shuler Donner Briefly Talk X-Men: First Class, Thor, & Captain America!

I was pleasantly surprised by X-Men:First Class this weekend. Continuity issues aside it told a good story and the lead actors did a great job.

To me XMEN:FC turned out better than THOR. In THOR the danger to a small midwestern town paled in comparison to the threat of world ending nuclear war, the costumes seemed like cheap hardened plastic incarnations from the comics compared to explained flight suits, and the character relationships seemed rushed having THOR fall in love in what seemd like less than a week compared to months of interaction building bonds and eventually fracturing relationships.

Neither was perfect, again to me XMEN was more enjoyable but I am interested in where they take both stories from here. Looking forward to Green Lantern to finally see Hal on the big screen and Captain America to see his origin and how he will eventually connect with the rest of the avengers.

I am sick of all these Thor bashers always pointing how brief Thor fell in love with Jane...haven't you ever fallen head over heals in-love at first sight before? They had "the talk"...you know, when they talked the whole night before they fell asleep? That's a big step. And what about Jane? Why did she fall for Thor? Well, he looked great, and tall, that's one. Second, he did support her work, when she was feeling bad about SHIELD Thor encouraged her...(Thor: Jane don't stop, you must continue your work...Jane: Why?...Thor: Because you're right...here...etc.), which is great. And third, he sacrificed his life just so she would be safe..."it's over...you're safe"....now, wouldn't any girl fall for a good-looking tall buff guy who sacrificed his own life for her and her friends?

Enough with all these Thor bashing! The movie has almost run it's course....it will trickle in just a few more $$$ and that's the end...it's at the end of it's rope...all the DC guys bashing it...too late, it already broke Superman Returns worldwide gross. Superman Returns flopped, get over it...no use trying to bring down Thor too...besides, it's only a minor hit, and box office-wise, it didn't set the world on fire, so chances are there won't be a sequel.

As for comparing X-Men and Thor...different movies, folks...but seriously, I wanted to see about the REAL X:Men First Class, you know -Scott, Jean, Hank, Bobby, Warren...we got at least Hank...but the rest were bleh. And it's very anti-American (or a pretty poor opinion of humanity), if you think about it....really? Both US and Russia agreed to kill children with a barrage of missiles? In any culture, that is murder. And it's a "nice film"? Shows the level of morality we as a generation have nowadays. It sucked...continuity issues is the least of it's problems.

X Men 1st class was ok, I liked Thor better tho. Maybe cuz x men has been done so many times, it was nice to see something new.

On this jane and thor thing. Look, yeah it was pretty quick but who cares? this isn't a love movie, this is a COMIC BOOK MOVIE about THOR. I got to see hammer spinning, throwing, and yes even hammer-quakes. which is more than any Thor fan can ask for.
