Brie Larson Says She Loves Where CAPTAIN MARVEL Is At In The Comics Right Now

In case you haven't kept up with Marvel Comics, Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, is fresh off the events of Civil War II, which saw her come to blows with Iron Man. Is that a clue for her MCU debut?

Brie Larson has been brushing up on her Carol Danvers, aka Ms. Marvel/Captain Marvel, comics in anticipation of playing the character in Avengers: Infinity War before ultimately starring in her own solo feature film. The Room actress definitely likes where Carol Danvers is at in current Marvel Comics as opposed to how she was portrayed and treated by her fellow Avengers during the character's initial debut in the '70s.

"I feel a great responsibility.  I have so many conversations with fans about the universe and this character in particular. I’m grateful for social media for that, actually — it’s such a great way to connect with people, to understand what it is they love about this character, what it is they hope to see. Where this character’s at in the comic books is such an inspiring space right now. I’m so grateful to be part of it."

But just how up to date is Larson? Carol Danvers' most recent decisions saw her cause another Civil War in the Marvel Comics Universe as she feuded with Tony Stark over how to best prevent crimes and stop super villains before they carry out their nefarious schemes. Might we see that storyline play out again in the Marvel Cinematic Universe one day? Is that something you would like to see in Phase Five or Six? Let us know in the comment section below.
