Reports recently circulated that audiences were left in tears after attending early screenings of Captain Marvel and witnessing the movie's tribute to the late Stan Lee, and as long as you're okay with being spoiled, you'll find all the details on the sequence in question below.

So, the tribute is actually the Marvel Studios logo graphic that plays before the movie starts, but instead of the usual glimpses of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, we see a collage of every cameo appearance Lee has made in The MCU. Then, the screen fades to black with the words "Thank You Stan".

It's a fitting tribute to the legendary Marvel Comics creator, whose legacy has inspired and will continue to inspire so many. There were no tears at my screening, but the crowd did erupt into cheers and applause.

As you may know, Lee also makes a posthumous cameo in the movie itself, but we'll hold off on sharing details on that until tomorrow!

Are any of you guys seeing Captain Marvel tonight at midnight screenings, or are you waiting until tomorrow? Let us know in the comments.

Ok but can they close down his Twitter account? Instead of talking about him they're using it to promote the movie...

That tribute made me tear up a bit, wasn't prepared for that at that point. I kind of wish they'd done this for Endgame, but if they handle the logo stuff similarly to Infinity War that obviously wouldn't work too well.

That's right and my audience also erupted in cheers and gave applause. Simple and effective tribute.

It was a nice little tribute to Stan that cherished all the cameos he has had over the years (and in effect, the characters that he touched in his creative career). I was expecting a much longer tribute, wondering if it comes with Endgame.

I will say, Stan's actual cameo in the film was really good. I don't want to spoil the specifics of it, but it involves him and Carol and it brought a really warm smile to my face and really made me feel a sense of loss.
