Wow this is the first convincing thing I've read about a director and then by result actor for Catain Marvel. I'm not hating it.
Tuuralihn - 5/7/2016, 9:35 AM
Still got my hopes up for Katheryn Bigelow and Katheryn Winnick.
gambgel - 5/7/2016, 11:23 AM
@Tuuralihn - I really want her :(

not a fan of Emily Blunt as Captain Marvel, she's not the best for the role lookwise and I preffer a more unknown actress to breakout
iDontWikeIt - 5/7/2016, 12:06 PM
@Tuuralihn - I'm with you, pal. I just need Winnick on Screen!
TheManWithoutFear - 5/7/2016, 9:38 AM
This does seem to add up.
Urubrodi - 5/7/2016, 9:40 AM
A source did say that both actress and director shared same first name. It works with Emily Blunt.
Shanksman - 5/7/2016, 12:07 PM
@Urubrodi - Damn I didnt realize that!!! Either this or Katheryn Winnick and Katheryn Bigelow.
GhostDog - 5/7/2016, 9:41 AM
Hey!!!!! Ive seen her; heard her speak. Saw her animated short RPG OKC, at the Philly film festival 3 years back.

Very inventive

Pretty cool short. I HOPE, IF this is true, she's right for the job. I like that Marvel fosters indie filmmaking talent. It's wonderful. I trust Marvel and the talent they bring in. With Phase 3, they've seemed to have learned from their past mistake and really matured as a studio.

"8 years in the cinematic universe game, how much have we learned? Grown from?"
Lol
GhostDog - 5/7/2016, 9:42 AM
"EMILY" Blunt
"EMILY" Carmichael

Sources did say the director and lead actress shared the same first name
xaiyasak - 5/7/2016, 9:46 AM
omg omg omg please let this be true, please let it be Emily Blunt
CaptainAmerica31 - 5/7/2016, 9:46 AM
Sounds good to me, if the Russos can make good movies so can she. When they said the Russos would direct TWS it was weird because they did not seemed qualified whatsoever especially since they directed You,me and Dupree
Spock0Clock - 5/7/2016, 9:51 AM
@CaptainAmerica31 - The Russos were (and I guess still are) among the highest sought after pilot directors working in TV. Just because you didn't like one Owen Wilson vehicle doesn't mean that they were some unheard-of commodity.
CaptainAmerica31 - 5/7/2016, 10:42 AM
@Spock0Clock - I'm not saying they were unknown im saying they didn't strike me as action directors
AwesomePromoz - 5/7/2016, 10:52 AM
@CaptainAmerica31 - I guess you never saw the paintball episodes of Community. Maybe you want to check them out, if the Russos have pleasantly surprised you in the past :)
CaptainAmerica31 - 5/7/2016, 11:02 AM
@TheFamousJMC - I really liked community but that still doesn't mean at the time they were qualified action directors in our eyes
AwesomePromoz - 5/7/2016, 12:07 PM
@CaptainAmerica31 - I'm kind of interested in what you think makes people qualified. Are people only qualified to do what they have done previously? And how did they manage to do it the first time if they weren't qualified?

So.... there's obviously a way to see potential in abstract ways right? The Russos were OBVIOUSLY QUALIFIED. End of story.
AwesomePromoz - 5/7/2016, 12:10 PM
@CaptainAmerica31 - I'll tell you who was obviously not qualified...

Marc Webb's previous film (50) days of summer was a steaming pile of shit.... it was a tonal and narrative mess, and I could see from miles away that he did not have the tools to make any kind of film much less a follow-up to a loved franchise, where Sam Raimi made two perfect instalments out of three.
CaptainAmerica31 - 5/7/2016, 3:27 PM
@TheFamousJMC - yes the Russos are qualified, I never said they weren't. My original comment was speaking to the fact that someone on here asked if she was qualified to direct Captain Marvel, so I harkened back to 2013 when they announced The Russos were going to direct TWS. People including myself didn't think they were qualified, clearly they were. Moral of the story people on this site don't mean shit.

Sorry you get so riled up by a comment
CaptainAmerica31 - 5/7/2016, 3:28 PM
@TheFamousJMC - I said " at the time" in case you were having trouble reading that
CaptainAmerica31 - 5/7/2016, 3:29 PM
@TheFamousJMC - and yes Marc Webbs Spidey films were garbage let's hope the new ones aren't aswell
CaptainAmerica31 - 5/7/2016, 3:33 PM
@TheFamousJMC - someone is qualified in my eyes if they've made a good movie before. Simple as that
AwesomePromoz - 5/7/2016, 6:34 PM
@CaptainAmerica31 - Yeah cool we agree then, sorry for contradicting you.
