THE MARVELS Clip Features Crazy Location-Swapping Shenanigans As Captain Marvel And Ms. Marvel Battle The Kree

A new clip from The Marvels has been released which sees Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) and Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani) swapping places as they battle a platoon of Kree soldiers. This looks like a blast...

It feels like there's a lot of negativity surrounding The Marvels at the moment, including claims it will be a box office flop when it opens a couple of weeks from now.

Today, a new clip from the Captain Marvel sequel has been released which is arguably better than anything shown in the movie's trailers. As Carol Danvers and Ms. Marvel repeatedly swap places, we see the sort of unique visuals filmmaker Nia DaCosta is bringing to the table for what's shaping up to be a brief, but thoroughly bonkers, adventure.

The action we see here is a blast to watch unfold, with the two heroes taking the fight to various platoons of Kree soldiers both on Earth - in the Khan household - and across the cosmos.

Earlier this year, The Marvels executive producer Mary Livanos pointed out that the idea of location swapping harkens back to early Captain Marvel comic books, where Mar-Vell (the original Captain Marvel) and human Rick Jones would swap places using magical Kree bracelets called Nega-Bands. Those are expected to take centre stage in this movie, with Kamala Khan wielding one and the villainous Dar-Benn in possession of the other.

"The biggest challenge was finding the balance between my point of view as a director and as a comic book nerd," DaCosta has said of her approach to this movie. "Obviously, there are changes between the comics and the movies, and sometimes I'm like, 'Whoa, whoa, whoa!' Sometimes Kevin [Feige] would be like, 'You're being too much of a nerd. Please stop.'"

Check out this new clip from The Marvels in the Tweet/X below.

In The Marvels, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe.

When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as "The Marvels."

The movie stars Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani, Samuel L. Jackson, Zawe Ashton and Park Seo-joon.

The Marvels is currently set to arrive in theaters on November 10.

Of course they release a clip that has Mohan Kapur shown right away. Couldn't even finish the clip cause of him.

You know what... we might've been way too harsh on the first Captain Marvel.

Looks very Agents of shield inspired. Which is fine by me because I liked that show.

So far every trailer and clip has looked decent. But the review embargo makes me think differently

[frick] all the articles trying to pre-bomb this film, it looks [frick]ing sick! I’m definitely going to be seeing it the day it opens

@MikeyL - one could argue that this clip is trying to 'pre-bomb this film'

@MikeyL -
The film is bombing itself. It's pre-sales point to a lower opening than Ant-Man 3, potentially as low as The Flash in a worst case scenario.

@DocSpock - Referring to Missy Elliott as "sh!tty rap" is definately a choice.

Not bad aside from terrible acting (“I don’t like that name” lol) and awful music.

I always hate when they put modern music over an actual score. Makes it feel cheaper.

@Tonic24k - I praise plenty of stuff but I also don’t eat up mediocre shit like this. Sounds like you need to raise your standards.

@TheLobster - My standards are based on the most successful CBM franchise of all time. Doesn't mean everything they do is perfect. But it does mean they still do it better than anyone else. And just because there's room for improvement, which I agree, it doesn't mean whining all the time is necessary. At the same time, it's just a bad look.
