CAPTAIN MARVEL Pushes The MCU To $18 Billion Worldwide; Will Remain #1 During Second Weekend

Captain Marvel has already passed the $500 million mark at the worldwide box office, and that's pushed the Marvel Cinematic Universe's all-time haul to a mind-blowing $18 billion. Read on for details...

Captain Marvel is kicking butt at the box office and after less than a week of release, the Marvel Studios movie has already sailed past the $500 million mark globally. As a result, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has now grossed a total of $18 billion since Iron Man was released back in 2008.

Once Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home are released, it honestly wouldn't be remotely surprising to see the MCU reach $20 billion, which is downright mind-blowing.

It's also been revealed that Captain Marvel will continue going higher, further, faster this weekend as it's set to remain #1 at the North American box office. The movie is expected to earn anywhere between $70 million - $85 million, a tremendous result which is a similar decline to movies like Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War. As of Tuesday, it's made $524 million worldwide.

What's clear is that the MCU is going from strength to strength, and it's showing no sign of slowing down. Much to the disdain of trolls in basements everywhere, Captain Marvel is just the latest example of that and looks set to reach $1 billion in the coming weeks.

What do you guys think of this news? Stay tuned for more box office updates as we have them.

Funny how the more people want a Marvel film to fail, the bigger the success it becomes.
