Former VAMPIRE DIARIES Star Nina Dobrev Says She'd Be Up For Playing Catwoman In A Future DC Film
While on the press tour for her upcoming release xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, former Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev expressed some interest in possibly playing Catwoman! Come take a look!
It's been heavily rumored that classic DC Comics villain Catwoman won't be a part of Ben Affleck's next directorial venture, The Batman, but that doesn't mean there aren't plenty of talented actresses interested in taking on the role whenever it inevitably makes its way back to the big screen. The latest to enter the ring is Nina Dobrev, who is best known for her former lead role on the The Vampire Diaries where she starred as the doppelgängers Elena Gilbert & Katherine Pierce.
Dobrev, who is currently on the worldwide press tour for Paramount's eagerly-awaited action sequel xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, was recently asked by the Brazilian entertainment site CinePOP, whether she'd ever be interested in signing on for a superhero movie and well, unsurprisingly, she said of course, but unfortunately her first choice was already taken: "I think it would've been really fun to play Wonder Woman, but that movie's already been made."
However, when further pressed on the matter and if there weren't any heroes, if there were any potential villains she might be interested in, Dobrev - who admits to not being well-versed on comic books and the associated lore - expressed enthusiasm for one very popular villainess: "Catwoman, maybe? That'd be fun."
Check out her comments, which start around the 2:15 mark, in the video below:
Considering her well-received performance as the notorious Katerina Petrova on TVD, it'd certainly be interesting to see Dobrev as a villain again, suiting up in the black leather to cause mayhem in the life of Bruce Wayne, but what do you guys think? Would you like to potentially see Dobrev as Selina Kyle down the line in the DCEU? Or is there another role she's better suited for? Maybe a Marvel role? Sound off with your thoughts below!
