Don't worry, that twist thankfully won't involve some sort of mind swap between the Silver Surfer and Galactus! Instead, Norrin Radd will be taking a girl described as a "kindred spirit" along for the ride this time around. Despite having starred in many short lived series' in the past, it's hoped that the recent surge in popularity for Marvel's Cosmic books (thanks to Guardians of the Galaxy and Nova) will mean that this iteration sticks around for a little longer. Check out Mike Allred's cover for issue #1 below, along with comments from Dan Slott on the book.
"With the Silver Surfer, on some level he's very alien. Not just because he's from Zenn-La. He's alien because he's the Surfer. The minute you give him someone with human eyes who can see things differently, it humanizes him. Because as much as this book is going to be about exploring the universe, it's also going to be about exploring the Surfer's humanity. So on some level, she is his guide for that. There must be so many more secrets to be revealed about the origins of this universe and how it works and where it's going and all this potential The universe is infinite and ever-expanding, and one of the joys in this book is going to places that the Surfer has never been to before. Seeing parts of the universe that will surprise and amaze him."
