The Wolverine/Iron Man3... Not Your Typical Superhero Movies?

The Wolverine and Iron Man 3 both cam out in 2013 and both have mixed reactions from fans. Some say Iron 3 is dog poop while others say it is "deep" and " above other superhero movies". Some say The Wolverine is boring. Some say The Wolverine " stays away from superhero averageness" and is a "character study". I take a look into how both movies are more similar than you thought.

The Wolverine's main villain is an old grandpa dressed up in a robot costume who tries to steal Wolverine's healing powers in order to live forever. Iron Man 3's main villain is a man who Tony ignored and he then went on to become a powerful business man who wants to have most powerful president and most powerful terrorist at the same time. Both are "twists". The audience was not supposed to know the old grandpa was evil because he supposedly died. The Mandarin was teased as the main threat unit it was revealed that he was a fake. How are they similar? They were both enemies from the hero's past who returned with a vengeance to destroy the hero and become powerful while the hero was in the mist of a crisis ( Wolverine was being a whiner/ Tony was having nervous breakdowns) Another reason the villains were similar is how they were defeated. Tao from The Wolverine killed her grandfather just before he took all of Wolverine's healing powers and Wolverine died. Then Wolverine threw him out the building. In Iron Man 3, Pepper beat Flame boy after he said he was the Mandarin. Pepper saved Tony and Tao saved Wolverine. What happened after that was even more amazing. Wolverine lost his metal claws and Tony threw away his heart reactor. The metal claws and Tony's heart reactors are both what define their respective heroes. They lost them because they realize they don't need them. Tony IS Iron Man and Wolverine IS a soldier. The Wolverine starts with a flashback to Wolverine saving the same man he will fight in the future. Iron Man 3 starts in a flashback where Tony ignores the same guy he will fight in the future. Coincidence? I think not. Wolverine had a sidekick who was new to the franchise. Tony has a sidekick who was new to the series. Both sidekicks admired their respective heroes and helped them on their journey. The kid from Iron Man 3 was loyal to Tony and they shared jokes. The girl from The Wolverine was loyal to Wolverine and they shared jokes. We will probably never see them again. End Credit scenes were used in both Iron Man 3 and The Wolverine. Both are considered pointless and disappointing to the audience. Iron Man 3's end credit scene involved Tony telling Bruce the story and he's asleep. Yawn. The Wolverine's end credit scene involves Wolverine in an airport and Ian Mckellan and Professor Xavier comes back from the dead. Now this end credit scene was supposed to explain how Xavier came back from the dead. Instead we get nothing. " I have gift."' BOOOOORING!" I just realized another similarity between the villains. They are both hated and no longer exist. For example, The Mandarin is supposedly real because of a Thor The Dark World " one shot" and The Silver Samurai can be used again because the timeline is rebooted and everything that happened in The Wolverine never happened. That's all I could think from the top of head right now , folks. Sorry, I had more similarities written down ,but I lost the paper. That's my fault. If you have other similarities between Iron Man 3 and The Wolverine, let me know in the comments below. Thanks - WimpyKid4Life
