Are Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll returning to Marvel to portray Foggy Nelson and Karen Page in Disney+'s upcoming MCU television series, Daredevil: Born Again?
A new rumor from former Hollywood Trade reporter turned film scooper Jeff Sneider purports that's the case.
After Kevin Feige reviewed the completed footage on Daredevil under original showrunners Matt Corman and Chris Ord (Covert Affairs, The Enemy Within), he decided that it was necessary to take the show in a different direction and brought in Dario Scardapane (The Punisher, Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan) to replace them.
In addition to Scardane, Marvel also brought in Moon Knight and Loki season 2 directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead to helm the remaining episodes yet to be filmed before the actors and writer's strike this past summer.
Scardapane is reportedly overseeing a massive overhaul of the show, which was reportedly going to be a slow, procedural court drama before the revamp.
Per Sneider, one of the major changes Scardapane is making is to bring back Henson's Foggy and Woll's Karen, much to the delight of fans.
Now that the Netflix Defenders series are seemingly part of the main MCU continuity, it only seems right to bring back such an important part of Matt Murdock's life. It should be noted that the rumor doesn't specify how many episodes Foggy and Karen will appear in, so it's possible the characters could be playing much smaller roles in the semi-reboot.
In addition to Charlie Cox's Daredevil and Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin, Jon Bernthal's Punisher is also confirmed to star in the series. It's also worth mentioning that Daredevil and Kingpin recently appeared in the Marvel Spotlight series, Echo which directly leads into Born Again.
In a recent interview, Cox shared how surprised he was to get the call from Kevin Feige's assistant as he thought this time as Daredevil was over.
Previously, D'Onofrio stated that he felt Born Again was a brand new show, not connected to the Netflix iteration but with each passing day, it seems more and more that's no longer the case. Perhaps the original version of the show was something different but the revamp is looking to bring back the best parts of what made the Netflix show a smash-hit among fans.
Currently, Born Again is without an exact release date but it's said to be part of Phase Five of the MCU, which ends on February 14, 2025, with Captain America: Brave New World. Phase Six kicks off on May 2, 2025, with Fantastic Four.
