DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN Rumored To See Foggy And Karen Return After Kevin Feige Mandated Series Revamp

After repeated misfires on other MCU projects, Kevin Feige recently retooled the upcoming Daredevil TV series for Disney+ and a new rumor states that one change is to bring back Foggy and Karen.

Are Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll returning to Marvel to portray Foggy Nelson and Karen Page in Disney+'s upcoming MCU television series, Daredevil: Born Again?

A new rumor from former Hollywood Trade reporter turned film scooper Jeff Sneider purports that's the case.

After Kevin Feige reviewed the completed footage on Daredevil under original showrunners Matt Corman and Chris Ord (Covert Affairs, The Enemy Within), he decided that it was necessary to take the show in a different direction and brought in Dario Scardapane (The Punisher, Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan) to replace them.

In addition to Scardane, Marvel also brought in Moon Knight and Loki season 2 directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead to helm the remaining episodes yet to be filmed before the actors and writer's strike this past summer.

Scardapane is reportedly overseeing a massive overhaul of the show, which was reportedly going to be a slow, procedural court drama before the revamp.

Per Sneider, one of the major changes Scardapane is making is to bring back Henson's Foggy and Woll's Karen, much to the delight of fans.

Now that the Netflix Defenders series are seemingly part of the main MCU continuity, it only seems right to bring back such an important part of Matt Murdock's life. It should be noted that the rumor doesn't specify how many episodes Foggy and Karen will appear in, so it's possible the characters could be playing much smaller roles in the semi-reboot.

In addition to Charlie Cox's Daredevil and Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin, Jon Bernthal's Punisher is also confirmed to star in the series. It's also worth mentioning that Daredevil and Kingpin recently appeared in the Marvel Spotlight series, Echo which directly leads into Born Again.

In a recent interview, Cox shared how surprised he was to get the call from Kevin Feige's assistant as he thought this time as Daredevil was over.

Previously, D'Onofrio stated that he felt Born Again was a brand new show, not connected to the Netflix iteration but with each passing day, it seems more and more that's no longer the case. Perhaps the original version of the show was something different but the revamp is looking to bring back the best parts of what made the Netflix show a smash-hit among fans.

Currently, Born Again is without an exact release date but it's said to be part of Phase Five of the MCU, which ends on February 14, 2025, with Captain America: Brave New World. Phase Six kicks off on May 2, 2025, with Fantastic Four.

@TheLobster - This. If they don't bring him back, it'll be one of their biggest mistakes. He's easily in the top five best villains in all of the MCU.

@ReverseFlasher - that tease with him at the operating table had me HYPED. Loved how they spent a whole season giving him a backstory to eventually become Bullseye. I need Marvel to see that through.

@TheLobster - Lol, I do actually mean it. Bethal was good, but Farrell is legendary in that role, imo.

According to this site's rankings of Marvel shows, Netflix's Daredevil is the most successful Marvel show there has been. But, hey .... let Feige just make changes because all his choice on the D+ shows have been a homerun....

@lazlodaytona - Isn't this news basically saying Feige now wants this show to stay closer to how the Netflix one was, hence bringing them back? What you on about?

Rewatching S1 of Daredevil. I forgot Fisk had an old lady stabbed to death just to anger Matt to fall into his trap.

The Kingpin in Echo and Hawkeye pails in comparison to how smart and brilliant he was written. The current MCU is not talented enough to follow this through. Drew Goddard did good, guy needs to direct more movies.

@EnergyVamp - the kingpin in all of the Netflix shows echo and Hawkeye acted out of emotions and prone to rage.

Man I hope DD lives up to the NF series. I have low expectations that it will, since Echo is a good indicator that they’ve learned nothing. But that whole do over thing they pulled in production makes me wonder if they are beginning to get it.

I would just avoid the netflix stuff entirely. It was great for being it's own thing at the time.
ObserverIO

@S8R8M - And if they softboot it, it can remain it's own thing. But if they directly continue it, they will ruin it.

S8R8M - 1/13/2024, 8:18 AM
@ObserverIO - Yeah just keep them there own thing. Treat the Netflix stuff like the other stuff they have been doing with Spiderman and xmen. They have their own universe but still connected in the multiverse.

Honestly while I’m happy to see them back, this reads like a really cynical move to regain goodwill on the part of fans because Echo was so lame (and pretty much everything prior to Echo). It’s also gonna be a huge monkey’s paw because I genuinely do not trust Feige to know what the hell he’s doing anymore.

@Repian - doubt they recast at this point

Kevin Feige finally getting his hands in there and saying enough is enough. It’s about damn time they let Feige cook. Marvel started off the year great with Echo. Keep it up!

Those creatives are so weird.

If you let them they'll change every single thing to makenit their own. They developed a phobia of adapting content.

I’m not going to get too excited until there is some sort of official confirmation of this. For now fingers crossed it’s true. It’s beginning to sound like Marvel have finally accepted that they just need make Daredevil season 4.
