"I was over in Hollywood earlier this year mooching about, and I had a meeting at Disney and the conversation drifted around to Pixar animating a Dr. Strange movie… Now, wouldn’t that be nice."

Now honestly I have got to say I would love to see Pixar work on some Marvel solo films, Maybe making animated features or shorts. But as for Doctor Strange, I believe he deserves nothing less then a live action film. Also with confirmation from Stan Lee that Doctor Strange is indeed in the process of coming to theaters, I assume more news may come in the next few months.

Here are some other ideas he had involving Doctor Strange in the comic book world.

"Another story has started to take shape, probably just starring Dr. Strange and Clea… The name ‘Hollywood’ has a deeper esoteric meaning too. The wood of the Holly tree was used by Druids to make wands. I think Dr. Strange should get involved with The Light-masters of Hollywood.

"I recently suggested to Vertigo a Sandman/Dr. Strange cross-over as I think the characters go together well."

Now this idea I kind of liked.

"I also suggested to Marvel a Lady Gaga/Dr. Strange team-up. A comic and video combination on a new song. It’s only a matter of time before the fantastic visual world of Ditko’s Dr. Strange is brought to a wider public."

I just thought i would add this little part where he talks about Judge Dredd comics, Do to the upcoming reboot Staring Karl Urban

"There is a Judge Dredd short story I am working on as we speak. I haven’t drawn ol’ misery-guts for about twenty years… It’s amazing what you forget. Al Ewing is scripting from a story I pitched. He’s a great talent. I think he will go far."

@ bleedthefreak

i'm not the biggest dr.strange fan,but i'm very intrested in any movie thats gonna come out of marvel studios & disney.

i hope it doesn't go down the road of pixar/toy story look, live action all the way.

i love the idea of sandman/dr.strange team up.

everyone wants a pixar/marvel film except for me i guess... :/

EDIT: NVM! some ppl want this as live action! but im talking all marvel characters. there's not one i'd rather see an animated movie about then live action.

you can do anything in live action now - why would you limit yourself to animation. then you couldn't ever have him in your Avengers event movies.

I agree Dr. Strange needs to be live action, all things considered they could do a fantastic looking Dr. Strange movie these days with all the special fx technology floating around. Spells would look amazing and there has never been a better time for the "Master of Mysticism" to be a part of the Marvel Movie line up.

OdinsBeard I think certain characters would be cool to see in a movie, but would not work on the big screen. Certain characters wouldn't be able to guarantee success for the studio if made into a big budget film. Animated is a way to get people introduced to lesser known characters so one day they may be able to handle successful live action films. But I would rather enjoy seeing live action films over animated any day, but as a starting point for smaller characters I could settle for animated if necessary.

yeah. WTF is with that Lady Gaga thing? Was that some kind of weird joke?

HA HA I was waiting for someone to notice the Lady Gaga thing. I purposely didn't comment just to see if any one would take notice to that part. I don't think he is kidding, after reading Spider-Man Fever I wouldn't put it past this guy to be serious about that part. But the Idea it self is horrifyingly bad. Where would that crossover get any of us, I know I sure as hell wouldn't buy it.

Ok so my first introduction to this Dr. Strange dude was the animated movie. Based on that, i say Jim Caviezel.

There are many Marvel properties that are perfect for the Pixar department and Dr. Strange is not one of them. The Dr. is Live Action potential! It should be ONLY LIVE ACTION. If Disney can do Sorcerer's Apprentice then they can definately pull off Dr. S but he would have a much better story and visual effects debut. If Pixar wants in on some Marvel, their best bet is Marvel Cosmic such as Annihilation War and War of Kings.

Animation? I thought it'd be live-action

I agree, Pixar has potential for Marvel films as seen in The Incredibles, but Dr. Strange isn't one of them.

@Odinsbeard- Pixar consistently puts out stuff that is both critically and financially successful. They know how to pull on heartstrings all while balancing the kid/adult conundrum. I'd be happy with Pixar producing any Marvel, including our Master of the Mystical Arts. While I'd love to see a live-action Dr. Strange, I wouldn't mind letting these artists have a crack.

I would definitely prefer that this be live action.

Maybe they will change their minds.

Jim Caviezel Jim Caviezel Jim Caviezel, ask me again and I'll tell you the same. It has to be live action. Ant man could get away with an animated film, but not Doctor Strange. ~ firesideproperty.deviantart.com

Pixar, PowerPack is all yours. Spider-Ham is all yours. The Great Lakes Avengers is-no that's just mean.

Anyway, I would lol till I died if I saw Pixar animate Lady Gaga with or without Dr. Strange trying to escape her reality warping magic. BUT- CAN WE PLEASE HAVE A SMACKDOWN BETWEEN LADY GAGA AND DAZZLER?! Dazzler would win of course but it's like, at some point Dazzler's going to have to get up on stage and put the Poker Face in her place.

I think everybody needs to relax about PIXAR being mentioned. John Carter of Mars is going to be PIXAR's first live action film. I don't see why Dr.Strange couldn't be the second. I think that if PIXAR did ANYthing at all with Marvel I would be excited. If that means a full on cg animated comic movie fine! If it means they'll just use their incredible talents for the effects, fine! It's a win/win if you ask me.

@LEEE777
Too bad Del Toro isn't hooking up with Marvel on this one. As for my second choice of director? TERRY GILLIAM!
And DEPP would be a fantastic Doc!
