First Look At Chiwetel Ejiofor As 'Baron Mordo' Filming DOCTOR STRANGE In Nepal

That mysterious hooded figure from yesterday's Doctor Strange shoot is a mystery no more as new set photos reveal it's none other than Chiwetel Ejiofor fully costumed as Baron Mordo alongside Benedict Cumberbatch who's also returned to set. Check it out after the jump!

Thanks to The Kathmandu Post as well as several Twitter and Instagram users, we have our first sighting of Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo on the set of Doctor Strange. The English actor, who appears to be the mystery hooded figure that we saw yesterday, joined Benedict Cumberbatch today in Patan Durbar Square, Nepal where the two filmed a few scenes together. According to one photographer, the scenes ultimately involved Strange finding Mordo "who seems to be his guide."

Directed by Scott Derrickson, Doctor Strange stars Benedict Cumberbatch (Dr. Stephen Strange), Rachael McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor (Baron Mordo), Tilda Swinton (The Ancient One), with  Mads Mikkelsen, and Michael Stuhlbarg (Nicodemus West), and the movie opens November 4, 2016.

Reminds me of the animated movie. Nice to see the grey streak in his hair. Also digging the Cumberbeard.

In all seriousness, looks pretty great.

Look at those DC Trolls who says that is a Batman Begins' ripoff. LOL I think that they never read a Dr. Strange's comic.

2015 and people still trying to claim that every superhero film is stealing from the Dark Knight trilogy in some way. Everything I've seen thus far from set photos seem on point with DS origin, not a revamped version of BB.

I'm on record from way back when he was cast that Cumberbatch can't grow a respectable mustache or beard... Fidelity to the source materials aside, he needs to shave that rat pelt off his face once he cleans himself up.

This is (part of) why I wanted Jon Hamm. This is a beard you can count on. A beard that will live up to the fan art.

A beard for tomorrow. A beard for the future. A beard for a better America... today! Wait, what as I talking about? I got lost in Jon Hamm's beard (like, I assume hundreds of breadcrumbs do every day).

He should've been t'challa.

American or English accent for cumberbatch? The reason why that's even a question is because Cumberbatch's English accent is powerful as f*ck, just listen to his Khan and his voice in the Hobbit Desolation of Smaug and tell me his magical chants would've sound bone chilling in his English accent but then Dr. Strange is American not English so I don't know what's better, I think either would be fine, I wouldn't mind his American accent as long as he can pull it off flawlessly.

The animated was movie was quite cool.

I hope these guys deliver the kind of performances I expect from them.

Portman, Close, Eccleston, Pearce and Honsu all seemed wasted to me.

The level of ACTING TALENT between those two is UNBELIEVABLE!!!! This cast is too damn good.

Hahaha everyone like its Batman Begins again. Have you read the Doc Strange origin??? This is what it is, deal with it. This is one scene, not the whole film

@BubbaFett damn how true it is. I never gave a second thought to Chiwetel playing Mordo or Fishburne as Perry. Maybe it's cause they're PHENOMENAL actors. Idk

@TheManFromMars @Antley me too!!! He might grow it later after he goes full on evil warlock haha. After he's banished from the temple and becomes a servant of Dormammu

It's weird to think someone would complain about it being too similar to Batman Begins considering people complained when Batman Begins came out about it copying the origin of Dr. Strange.

Don't even compare this to Batman Begins. This could fail like AOU.

I seriously can't wait for this movie.
They're doing it! Strange and Mordo in Nepal training!!!
So fvcking cool!
We're getting the origin, little bits of The Oath and then hopefully it's all Ditko from there on in.
Bring it, bitches. My mind, body are spirit are all ready.

@MARVELPSYCHO79

"If people are comparing this movie to Batman Begins, they obviously haven't read comics in their life because this origin is straight from the comics from the 60s."

I feel like comparing it to Batman Begins is cool, if someone said Batman Begins came first that would be wrong, but I don't see why they can't be compared as movies

Anyway, once you get past the traveling, and training aspect, Batman and Strange are entirely different characters

And, talking about reading comics, The Shadow influenced both Strange and Batman
UltimateCookie
UltimateCookie - 11/7/2015, 7:21 AM
Please be a good movie and please don't kill off Mordo if he is indeed the villain.
DrKinsolving
DrKinsolving - 11/7/2015, 7:22 AM
The Shadow came before both Strange and Batman, and influenced both and nobody cares

But, if The Shadow movie addressed the origin as well as Batman Begins did on the big screen, then people would be talking about it on here

I'm just happy we're even getting a Doctor Strange movie, and one with such a crazy amount of talent involved.
