First Official Details On Rachel McAdams' Role In DOCTOR STRANGE Revealed
While Marvel has decided against providing her character's name, they have revealed the first details about Rachel McAdams' role in Doctor Strange, and definitely drop some major clues. Is she Clea, Night Nurse, or something inbetween? Hit the jump to check it out...
Who is Rachel McAdams playing in Doctor Strange? That's something we've all been wondering for a very long time, and Entertainment Weekly has finally revealed her identity. Sort of. "Rachel McAdams plays a fellow surgeon that has a history with Strange and is his sort of lynchpin to his old life, once he steps into he role of a sorcerer," Kevin Feige explains in an interview with the site. "She is someone he connects with at the beginning, and reconnects with, and helps anchor his humanity." So, she's not Clea then, but could she be a contemporary version of Night Nurse, now a doctor instead of somone who spends their nights helping out New York City's vigilantes?
"Rachel McAdams is sort of [Doctor Strange’s] contemporary in the modern-day New York world, before and after he goes on this crazy journey," Doctor Strange executive producer Stephen Broussard teases. "So, she sees him before, she sees him after. She’s kind of this audience point of view." It sounds like she's going to be a love interest then, right? Benedict Cumberbatch seemingly confirmed that in a very tongue in cheek manner! "I’m not sure if I’m allowed to say what the interest is," says the actor. "But if I hit on her more than the Ancient One, put it like that." Well, that's a relief, though with Tilda Swinton playing the character, it wouldn't have been THAT weird!
