Sam Strike Won't Be SPIDER-MAN; But He Will Play Another Iconic Character
Earlier on today we posted the rumor that Eastenders actor Sam Strike might have landed the new Spider-Man role. Well, turns out that wasn't the case -- and he won't be appearing in Deadpool or X-Men: Apocalypse either. But click on to find out who he will be playing...
So yeah, he's playing Leatherface. As in, the masked killer from the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre who's since appeared in various sequels, prequels and reboots, all of which have been pretty terrible. This one will also be a prequel, taking the character ("Jackson") back to his teenage years as a burgeoning cannibal psychopath. The movie will be helmed by Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo, the French directors of cult hit, Inside.
Nobody needs another one of these movies, but they make money so we're by God getting one. I guess we might eventually get some type of crossover with Freddy or Jason or something which could be fun. If nothing else, you have to hand it to Strike and his agent for building hype up for this reveal anyway. Are you disappointed he won't be our new Webhead? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place.
