The crew from Think Hero did another new podcast of For Your Consideration, and this time director Brian Taylor was a special guest. The podcast is almost one hour long, but the part about Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is from 4:10-10:20. Check it out below:

And here is a transcript of important stuff he said:

* He decided to join the project because he loves the character and he wanted to work with Nicolas Cage.

* Says the budget is actually not big (like some reports are saying it is) but almost the same as Gamer starring Gerard Butler.

* Even though they didn't have a lot of money, he says it will look huge.

* Says the character will look and sound different. They created a whole new origins and the cast is new.

* Talks about villains. Confirms Blackout and says they gave him some new powers that are not in the comic books.

* Says they are going to show some stuff at SDCC 2011 and it will be big.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is set to hit theatres on February 17, 2012!

@ jazzman

exactly, this movie was doomed from the start for a couple of reasons.

nic cage is no johnny blaze

didn't they cut the budget for the film in half

some of the on set vid's didn't do the movie any favors either.

give it back to marvel.

Screw Sony!

But seriously, how is Nic Cage still making movies? He's become poison. If it's a reboot why use him? I hope it's at least violent with an R rating. That could emplane why the budget is 15% of the first one. Studios usually limit R films budgets.

Ahhhh shit!!! I had some sort of hope for this movie. It's not a sequel...it's a low budget reboot...and they desided to mess with the villains powers. Why don't they just stick a hot poker up my ass while they are at it. Ghost rider was one of my favorite comics in the 90's and if done right can be an awesome character. son-of-ahhh......

It's hard to get excited (or even mildly interested) for this movie since they kept Nic Cage. I mean after all Cage was 50% of why the first movie was horrible.

I like the directors, so I give this movie a descent chance.

A good Director knows how to make their film look and feel great without a huge budget. It's also expected, but great to hear that the chalky looking version of Ghost Rider will be "evolved" for this take. Can't wait for this film.
