G.I. Joe 2 casting new characters, Lethal Weapon actor screen-tests!

Following the recent tabloid report that UK X Factor winner Shayne Ward had tried for a role in the next G.I. Joe film, comes confirmation that auditions are happening right now, plus news of another actor involved…

The Coventry Telegraph's sources say auditions are definitely going on, as well as revealing that actor Danny Arroyo, who's apparently a big comic book fan, has tried for a part in the film. Here's an extract from the article...

Just recently, a report in The Sun claimed that former X Factor winner Shayne Ward had tested for an unspecified role.

It's now been confirmed to us that auditions are indeed happening for this next film, G. I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes.

We are hearing that among the actors who have read for one of the new roles in the script is Danny Arroyo. Arroyo's credits include Lethal Weapon 4, The Resistance TV series, the kooky comedy Repo Chick and horror thriller Kill Katie Malone. He's currently filming the main lead role in a Christmas family movie called Santa's Dog.

G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes, directed by John Chu, hits screens in August 2012. New characters from the G.I. Joe cartoon/comics mythos will feature in the story because the only returning cast from the first film are Channing Tatum as Duke, Ray Park as Snake Eyes and Lee Byung-hun as Storm Shadow.

Who could this actor be playing? Any ideas?

This is real dedication to the fans of this series. They make the movies just right for their fans. When they go see it, there will be plenty of room in the theater. Lots of space to kick your feet up and the only other people there will be other fans. All 6 of them.

Awesome.

nimso Dude, does it even matter?

And no amount of wishing is going to put TRANSFORMERS in the same boat as G.I. JOE. The worst of the TRANSFORMERS movies is light years ahead of this cheap, straight-to-cable tv, crap.

Plastic JasonX mask for Cobra, anyone?

@ecksmanfan- Transformers 1&2 made a combined 1.5+ BILLION dollars worldwide. Part two made the most. They obviously are not bad movies. How could that many people be wrong. 1.5+ BILLION!!!

I love how people bag on Michael bay for the crap he puts out but his movies always produce. If you want a mo ie with a great script and excellent acting, go watch some boring drama. I prefer to be on the edge of my seat. GI Joe was kinda shitty, I'll admit. Part two looking to be the corn in the turd.

This dude looks like he could fit the mold for Spirit..which would be cool....maybe Tomax & Xamot...Also, they better bring a better Zartan to this movie.

@Hellsing & @nuck82

Rachel Nichols is hot, one person dosn't make a film, if they cast a hotter girl that can act I bet every one would still watch.

@ArrionShadow
THANK GOD THERE IS NO MARLON WAYONES!!! Replace him with some one who can act like Laz Alonso or Tyrese.

@TMNT guy, you're right! They already struck the Joes and the world.

@Elbicho, how do you not know there was a Lethal Weapon 4? It was probably the best one. Jet Li was the villian. Chris Rock is a co-star. It was good.
