Marc Guggenheim On The Possibility Of GREEN LANTERN Appearing On ARROW

Ferris Air is coming to Arrow in the final episodes of the season, but does it have any links to the Green Lantern feature film? Guggenheim also shares his thoughts on whether or not Ryan Reynolds' Hal Jordan could pop up later on!

While talking to TVGuide, Arrow producer Marc Guggenheim infact revealed that the Ferris Air jet we'll be seeing later on in the season will have the same logo as the one in the Green Lantern feature films (which he and other Arrow producer Greg Berlanti helped write), saying "If all goes according to plan, when you see the Ferris Air logo later in the season, it will be the same logo that we established in the movie. I like tips of the hat.".

Guggeheim also went on to reveal that Arrow doesn't take place in the same universe as that Green Lantern film, but Hal Jordan could appear saying "I would never say never, it's certainly something that we've talked about." but would Ryan Reynolds be up to it? Regardless, Guggenheim stated that "As with all DC characters, we have to figure out a way for those characters to fit within our Arrow universe, but when you consider the importance that Hal Jordan plays in the Green Arrow comics, it's certainly one of those names that we've discussed a great deal. I have Ryan Reynolds' phone number around here somewhere."

Arrow getting Hal Jordan to guest star is a pretty big deal, considering that Warner Bros are currently planning a Justice League feature film. However, would you like to see Hal Jordan play a part?

@Wellshit
You must be blinded to say there was not a single good thing about the movie.

Hey WB, you have a good tv series going on here, why not connect it to your movies so in the future you dont have to have a set-up movie for this. His origins is already established

i for one stopped watching the show after three episodes. It became too melodramatic for my likely, too much pandering to the "golden calf demographic". HOWEVER, I may tune in again if a Green Lantern is brought on, but I'm sure they'll find a way to "Nolanize" the character to make him "real" and strip whatever wonderment is left in comicbook heroes.

I love the show but Green Lantern would not fit into this mini universe they have created.

Reynolds is alot to ask for, but maybe a cameo from him would be a good way to get fans thinking about Lantern again before he gets a proper movie again.

Well they have the budget to make GL's costume look much better than the movie.

And that is sad.

Why would Ryan Reynolds ever want to play Hal Jordan again after such a terrible movie. He probably wants nothing to do with it now.

I dont want to see so much as a fake psychic on this show.
But Arrow is actually better than most theatrical CBMs such as Cap, Iron Man 2, Iron Man 3, GL and TDKR.
It doesnt have the budget but its got more entertainment and quality. And Amell is a better entertainer than Bale and his "The Hood" is film worthy and I'd love to see him in a JL film. (Bales a great actor! Just not much of an entertainer! Theres a difference. RDJ is both.)
So I'd love to see "The Hood" in a JL film. But I wouldnt want the show wrecked with "capes". Maybe JL could be after the show ends.

i dont think so, being that the arrow canon is somewhat realistic, and not fantastic
unless they pull a mandarin with technological rings, which was the original idea before making him a hoax in im3

How the hell are they going to have Green Lantern on their show. Don't they have a no superpowers rule? I stopped watching around the 7th episode, so I don't know if that has changed. I plan on getting the show on Blu-ray when it's on sale for $25 or less though.

GL is the only reason I would ever watch this show.

The show already established Coast City as existing in the same world with a mention.
Why not include a key part of Green Arrow history by maybe having a "Heroes on the road" 2 parter with Reynolds back as GL? That way they can introduce super powered people to Arrow and tie the series into a greater DCU beating SHIELD to the punch.

@Drewbee87

Rules are made to broken. The whole no super powers rule could have just been in place until they got Arrow established. Now, they can build around him.If the series lasts long enough, their will be a super powered foe for Arrow to battle and allies to team up with.

Nah, no way it could happen. Just the CGI of the costume would be as expensive as the budget for a whole season of this series. Forget about it.
WarnerBrother
WarnerBrother - 5/7/2013, 6:37 PM
Rolling the Arrow series into the DC Cinematic universe would be a cost effective way to introduce B-level characters and do some world building. How about mentioning the events from MOS next season? Add in a Ryan Reynolds Hal Jordan guest shot and you have the glue to tie a DCCU together before 2020.

WB ain't gonna reboot GL,its not cost effective and they have spent to much time and effort promoting Hal Jordan to switch him out for John Stewart so forget about that.

Just have Jordan explain that his debut threw society for such a loop that Waller's organization had to stage the biggest coverup in history to prevent the upheaval among the public Hector hammond was talking about taking place in the film.

Hal agreed and played along with it by limiting his GL activity on Earth till the time was right to confirm alien life.

Waller explained Jordan's debut at Ferris as some kind of Hoax while swearing most of the Ferris management, employees, military brass and political figures to silence the same way Waller did to Hammond. The Parallax attack on Coast City could be played off as a massive toxic cloud from a chemical plant that caused survivors to think the cloud was alive and fighting a flying green man.

Use Arrow and the events of MOS to show that Hal see "The cat is out of the bag" and its time to go public in this new age of heroes led by Superman.

Hal Jordan could make an appearance, but never as Green Lantern. And not the Ryan Reynolds version, the series can not be linked with the cinematic universe.
WarnerBrother
WarnerBrother - 5/7/2013, 6:46 PM
The Arrow show would be a perfect place to retcon the GL costumes.Just create real a real GL uniform and place the green glow effects over it to save money.

Think of it in the same terms as Whedon changing the look and actor of the Hulk from the Norton film even though the Ruffalo Hulk was the same character.

Then GL would be set to appear in Justice League in a less costly version that would already have shown up on T.V.

I figure if Hal Jordan does show up, it'll be very much in tone with the Grell Green Green Arrow run (meaning it'll be Hal Jordan who appears, not Green Lantern, with that name pretty much never actually coming up).
